Useless question of the week ..

I have been offered an ex-display silver M11 by a dealer in mint condition, with a large discount

for the same price I can get a second hand M11-P black in mint condition

i like the silver and the red dot, but on the other hand also like the stealth. In terms of features not sure anything interests me but the M11-P is a newer model.

what would you guys do ?

Only you can decide whether you need the features of the M11-P. Personally, I don't and I prefer silver bodies. So I'd take the M11, but if you're planning to resell it, you're likely to get a lower price for it as it's a discontinued model. Also, 64GB SSDs may become out-of-stock spares sooner than later models.

I have the M11-P. The additional memory and sapphire screen are nice to haves though neither have proved to be anything more than a spec sheet advantage for me so far. I think the P model will hold onto its value better than the standard model but otherwise it’s down to the looks you prefer. I don’t see a strong enough reason to go with the base M11 if they are the same price but if you want silver and red dots then you won’t miss out on much by skipping the P. I say go with the model that speaks to you the most. The initial gut instinct tends to be the right path in my experience.

Personally i would prefer a silver and brass hence M11 in this case

unless u prefer the looks of P and content credentials as well as more spacious 256 Gb internal memory

Purely a quick observation, but it seems the M11 received more posts on you tube, here and other forums about freezing, color casts etc than the M11-p? Perhaps the M11-p available date coincided with the updated firmware fixes?

If its that M11P on the UK MPB site , I'm pretty sure the same camera has been on and off the site 3 times in the last couple of weeks, not sure why but does strike me as strange an 8k  camera new is selling for just over 6k near mint . They only give 6 months warranty as standard with their sales. Tread carefully.

Recently MPB have increased their standard warranty to 12 months.

That must have been recently as I look at their site quite often for gear and I didn’t even spot that.😊

Well, at least that is twice the length any New Zealand dealer would give you on a used camera!

I think it is very recent but good news.

No choice now someone has brought the M11P from MPB.....see how many days pass before its back for sale again. Just had a thought maybe its staff members using it over the weekend/bank holiday , then its getting returned back for sale once they have finished , as its not a new item they are selling , who would know.

That would be highly unlikely.

You are probably right, it just felt strange every time I looked at their Leica listings , it was back on there 💁.

It is odd that.

People can reserve items on MPB by submitting a trade request, if the trade request does not happen then the item is re-releaed back into the wild...

That would certainly explain the reason why its been on and off the site in the last few weeks.
