The Glossy Black is still for sale I believe?

I never checked anything about that as I do not want glossy black. I guess you are saying that it has 64GB INT? Too bad as they must still have some in stock.  64GB would be more meaningful if they put the SL3S sensor w/o AF obviously in an Mxx with 24MP sensor.

Yes I think the GB is still in production but could be wrong. I’m assuming that the base models have been turned into GB models to shift stock.

That's weird. I just bought a new M11-P with a 1500 euro discount. Would have thought that this would happen to the M11 OG. I asked if it was a late April fools day joke (I did the inquiry on April 2nd). All the sales person could say is that their supplier (I guess the distributor) wanted to clear the shelves. The discount should run till April 16th, but I checked today and the discount is removed. They sold their stock, but it's not listed as discontinued.

Another thing is that the (official) trade-in value of my old M10 (black) dropped around 400 euros in roughly one month. A friend of mine (with a much newer M10 silver) was offered even less (300-400 euros below mine). We eventually sold ours for roughly 1500-2000 more than the offered trade-in price.

So something is afoot.

We are less than halfway through the 100 year anniversary.  Plenty of time for more limited edition special editions.  It has to get better than City Engraved models and expensive teddy bears.

When I bought my M11 some three weeks ago at Leica Store Amsterdam they told me that the price was lowered because the M11 will be discontinued. Apparently the M11-P is so succesful that there is no need anymore for the M11, so they said.

Nobody really wants the model with a very small buffer/memory, the cellphone-grade screen, and the red dot. And yet, this predictable cycle of "intro model" and "better model" is what Leica has done since the M8.2 and M9.

I disagree with that. The larger internal memory (no buffer difference) is no issue for me, I use SD cards. The screen doesn't matter because I had an M11 monochrom that in 1 day got a scratch with their sapphire screen that I did not get in 2 years with the M11. Additionally I prefer the look of the M11 to the M11-P so I disagree with pronouncements like this.

Yes, all the way to December, but the actual 100th anniversary is 3 May.

I don’t believe that there is any difference in the size or speed of the buffer between the M11 models as they use the same processor and can shoot to internal of fast SD storage.

Also 64gb internal memory is not “very small” in my thinking. I believe it’s good for 700 plus full size DNG’s which is more than a day’s shoot for many/most people.

I would not read too much into this. The M11s discontinuance could just be a portfolio rationalization, which is typical for a difficult economic environment. I am also not surprised about reduced trade-in prices. Selling Leica gear at reasonable prices has become difficult over the last half year.

Yep MPB UK were offering £3400 a week ago for a mint M11, this week £2500... Nuts...

What an unusual view.

The buffer is actually the same and the screen is actually less likely to shatter.

The logo can be taped over of course .

The M11 sold more then the 11p by some margin I understand.

The M11 and M11-P are essentially the same camera but I do think the majority of people buying today will opt for the P model, besides the upgraded memory and screen, it will likely hold it's value a little better too. It's the same old story with Leica, there is nothing new here that we have not seen before. They design an M and then churn out twin siblings in different outfits for 5 years.

Never mind the camera, the three Faber pencils with integrated sharpener at only £425 is incredible!!! I had to check the URL to reassure myself that this isn't a joke or scam site.

It's a special edition of 500, but I can't believe there would really be 500 people stupid enough (apologies to any Forum members who've already ordered one)
