Just me or is there nothing novel about the focus aid? I was hoping for at least something similar to what Nikon does, where they highlight eyes on the frame and when zooming in while focusing it automatically zooms in on the eyes?

Is it just the same experience as an SL then?

Well, I do wish they could have been a little braver and sprung something game changing, like the X100 and X-Pro all those decades back. I’m sure it will feel wonderful to shoot with and if one has the cash to play with, it does look so much more elegant than using an SL for the same results.

So basically any Leica digital m camera ever minus maybe the monochroms? 😂

I guess the only innovation here is that they've guts to charge more than for Q3 - and that one comes with lens.

this is supremely underwhelming. The only positive seems to be the lower weight. Battery life (around 230 with the EVF) is absurd, price is 8.000€, aesthetics are meh (personal opinion, I know), and I would be extremely hesitant buying this given the lack of opacity and laziness from Leica about the myriad software (and hardware) issues that may well carry over from the M11. Will happily stick with my 10-R and 10-M. Anyone else feel like they are continuing to take the piss a little...? It is a frustrating experience wanting to support a once innovative and reliable company when they release things like this and trumpet them as innovative and barrier-breaking. The last couple of lines from DPreview say it best for me: "After a few minutes of shooting with an M9, I understood why someone might buy a rangefinder. After a few days with the M-EV1, I'm at a loss to why anyone would buy this instead."

I've just read Jono's review and the good news for M11 owners is there is a positive firmware update likely on the way for white balance adjustment. The EV1 has it already, I see no reason that it will not be passed on to the rest of us.

Fully agree, this is full on piss-taking from Leica. If it was £4000, I could just about accept it. But at this price, it's a pure joke

£6840 in the UK :D  delivery 2-3 days. So what we have is Q with M mount for more than Q. Zero innovation. Speechless

It is not a Q. It offers lens change, no central shutter, etc.

Nothing Q besides the EVF apparently. Mainly an M11 with a built-in EVF as imagined since the beginning. One difference could be focus aids though. Something new related to the maintained RF window perhaps?

RF window is a self-timer LED. No magic
