That is a good argument against automatic focus peaking in general. In that situation a mini focus correction would trigged undesired mechanical magnification as well Something I dislike on AF cameras too. Focus AF in halfpress, just touch the focus ring accidentally and magnification kicks in.

Now that is the optimized sensor I mentioned in my post, which would be essential for such an dualmount camera.  You have fun with your Kolari Sony as you told us often enough. Is that one without adapter? I think not. 
And I explained auto zoom in my previous posts. 
I just hope for Leica that the postulated restricted functionality won’t kill the camera off commercially. The customer pool must be quite small. A dual mount would have added quite a few customers who wish for a compact ff L mount camera

Different experience here. With autozoom and focus peaking you can see the moving subject entering and leaving the peaking area. Been doing this for 10+ years with M lenses on mirrorless cameras.

Non-M mirrorless? Explain how the auto zoom was triggered. Only M cameras have mechanical focus sensing. I’m sure you triggered the magnification manually. 
Come to think of it, it could be resolved by auto magnification + halfpress locks focus peaking.

Then you know that there is no autozoom on the Sony. A camera i liked much indeed and i don't use much anymore for this reason and its inferior IQ compared to the M11. I just miss slow shutter speeds i can use comfortably with the Sony and its Techart AF adapter occasionally.

No mirrorless camera has autozoom capabilities with M and LTM lenses AFAIK. A superiority of the M11, and the M11-V thanks to its M mount hopefully.

Solution: stick with a rangefinder.

BTW.. planning a 5000 miles road trip and will visit Leica in your area..  My friend bought an M11 Monochrom a year ago and hasn’t taken the camera outside of his flat, so he is flying to Texas and we are doing a road trip to the Portland area and a side trip to Seattle/Bellvue Leica… Which was the last place that his M11M got some fresh air.

Sarcasm: using an M at f16 (A) and infinity focus (A) is a ridiculous concept. That was the joke.

Have fun. That's quite a drive. Grand Canyon on the way I would suspect? I bought my 'used' M10 from a guy on Mercer Island (near Bellevue). It had literally never been taken out of the box - meeting up at the local Starbucks for the sale, I had to peel the safety sticker off the battery to check it out. Some people have more money than sense (but saved me over $2k).

Bit tired to repeat things we've been discussing for years. All rumors seem to agree that the EVF M, whatever its name, will have an M mount AFAIK. Problem solved for good hopefully.

(Sorry for late answer); but I like too much Camembert (a REAL one) to risk on a chance based on what I'd whish  (IBIS); by the other way, in a hidden valley next to me they make in low volume a cheese (Bagoss) which imho has no equal (if you like "hard" cheese) so happy to bet, in case 😎

I bet you a Dutch Old Rotterdam to a Camembert that it will be a one-off. The interest outside a small group of M users will be minimal. A niche within a niche.

No idea what a Old Rotterdam is but i'll enjoy myself in my niche with a Camembert and a M11-V while thinking of you

Not to come in so late, but I read that the Sony A7CR 60MP with Kolari thin glass and the Techart AF M adapter will AF M lenses. Many use it that way I understand and very much like the results.

I use the Techart adapter randomly with my Kolari mod a7r2. Needs some practice but works well when i prefocus manually and let the Techart nail the focus automatically. Only issue of the Kolari mod is color rendition, at least for newbies. As far as my gear is concerned, the Kolari mod introduces a magenta cast that must be corrected in post. Just for info.
