The correct word is tat

Yes, you are correct. I got my British slang mixed up, my apologies (it's been awhile). I suppose it is tosh, though, just in a different sense. 😂

How can you hate cute teddy bears?!

Rumor is it's a full frame teddy bear, and the fastest teddy bear in Steiff's 145 year teddy bear history

To make the Teddies an investment, I reckon that you’d have to by both of them.

In the unlikely scenario that they breed lots more Teddies, and therefore provide a nice retirement income, a pair will be worth more than double just one of them.

You might need to wait 50 years to make good on your investment though.

That’s great news!

I love the “Faber-Castell for Leica: Crafting Set & Color Pencils M-Camera” M camera. That’s the result of the programmer’s task force to create an M camera free from any firmware bugs, freezing, rotating photos … 👍

I’m just wondering whether the pencils include “glossy Black” and what about brassing?? 🤔🤔

Reading between the lines, it’s unlikely for a M12 release this year, or Leica would have to make 100 Years M12 launch edition. I suspect 2025 is the year of commemorative editions, and this is just the beginning.

Or maybe it is the year of the m12 and this is Leica shifting remaining stock of the M11 before it's release. They are experts at churning after all. Their business model revolves around dressing up one camera design a few times and selling it over 4 years or so.

$600 Teddy Bears ... makes one wonder what the true rate of "Leica Tax" actually is.

Who ever came up with this sh!t for a 100 year anniversary for such an iconic brand has neither done the Company or its loyal Customers any justice.

Yes, but I’ve never seen anything quite so blatantly crass as this.  It really does demean the brand.  Can’t believe that someone (anyone) at Leica thought this was a good idea.

So they finally found something to use up the left over BP M11 paint and the silver dials from all of those silver M11s they couldn't sell.  On the innovation front, we get teddy bears.  Just what every Leica owner was hoping for.  And pricing for both will ensure only the one percenters will participate.  For the rest of us, just more M11 purple pictures.  Barnack would be embarrassed.

It's a pretty crap idea in my opinion. Lazy for a quick win but it seems they are not shifting enough of the M11 at retail. Pretty sure this won't be the only commemorative move Leica makes this year.

These things won't make a dent in normal models sitting in retail. Only so many multi-millionaire/billionaire collectors to sell special editions to. But it is quick cash to pander to the collectors market. Thing is, just how 'collectible' is an odd city branded M11 compared to say an original black paint M3?
