For example, if you set the shutter speed limit to 1/60, it will take 1/80, 1/125 will take 1/160, 1/250 will take 1/320, etc. The slowest shutter speed is always 1/3 stop higher than the selected one. Camera resseting does not help. Have you reported it to Leica?
Advertisement Posted October 12, 2024 Posted October 12, 2024 Hi SrMi, Take a look here Leica M11/M11-M/M11-P/M11-D: Firmware Update v.2.1.3 with further improvements. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!

Camera in the range from 64 to 3200 ISO, exposure time constant 1/320, do you think this is normal? Depends on light and aperture too. If you want shutter speed to be 1/250s, suffice it to chose auto iso M mode. You know how it works?
SrMi Posted October 12, 2024 Share #63 Posted October 12, 2024 32 minutes ago, lct said: Depends on the light, aperture and max iso. The camera can choose much slower shutter speeds than 1/250s if you shoot indoor at f/8 for instance, say 1/60s for max 6400 iso. If the max ISO value is reached in Auto-ISO mode, the camera starts lowering the shutter speed to prevent noise from exceeding the specified setting. That is work-as-intended.

It sounds like a single line of code where someone has just gone > shutter speed X whereas actually its >= shutter speed x. Anyhow, now that I know I can use human intelligence to set the shutter speed the required number of stops below the target. Suboptimal but I'm glad they've concentrated on critical rather than just annoying bugs.

fenykepesz Posted October 13, 2024 Share #70 Posted October 13, 2024 it was a smooth ride here, upgrading the firmware of my m11d's from 2.1.2 to the new 2.1.3 version. i used its regular SD card without any formating, just left the FM file in the main card directory. the upgrade process took some 4min20sec with lots of red blinking. thereafter factory reset followed by a FOTOS sync for date & time. left all defaults settings as is. camera works as expected.

Update for new 6 bit lenses ? Yes - But that's it. Otherwise, there isn't much... It's like the whole idea with the D model. It will be different with the new M11_D - I think - because it depends on the Photo app. Of course, errors must be corrected on the M11D as on the M11P etc But I would expect Leica to do that, of course. You're probably right, the MD was perhaps the "cleanest" D version, and the first digital one, I just didn't like it's M240 size so I didn't go for one. Started the "D" life with the M10-D, now with the M11-D, and yes there's a lot that really shouldn't be there for the essence of a "D" camera, but people seem to want to have connectivity to view, download, adjust or whatever, which again for me does go against the grain of the "D" concept..............BUT, with the M10-D I just set it up once with Foto's then ignored all of that, I never tweaked setting at all via the App in the years I had the camera, never downloaded or reviewed images via Foto's either, AND after an admittedly confusing start with the M11-D's greater reliance on Foto's I think, ( hope ), I am now in the same place with the M11-D. The M11-D is pretty wonderful in the hand, I like it's lighter weight, the new Black paint finish and that the on/off switch and ASA controls are back in the right places. Downloading files and charging via USB-C and the better battery are pluses and I do like the tri-resolution 18/36/60, mine is at 18mps and I like the files so far. So fingers crossed the honeymoon will linger.
PeterKelly Posted October 13, 2024 Share #72 Posted October 13, 2024 Upgraded through the app - all went well. I do hope the random overexposure issue in Auto ISO has been fixed. I happens to me completely randomly but on average in 1 every 75 images. I have had no freezes since the last update

mbmoore Posted October 14, 2024 Share #74 Posted October 14, 2024 OK, never had any issues with my M11M, but like a good Leica user I update whenever a new version comes out. Today I took the camera out for a shoot, having charged the battery last night. I went to take some photos and... nothing. Turned it off and on and it was still dead. Pulled the battery and re-inserted, and still would not turn on. Fotos did not see it. So I figured somehow the battery must have drained. Went home and put a new battery in and it turned on fine. Put the battery I assumed was dead in, and again it turned on fine and battery was 100%. Is this what people mean when they say the camera "freezes"? I really am mystified by this - usually a battery removal can set things right, but not today.

In auto iso mode, suffice it to set shutter speeds manually with the shutter speed dial of the camera (1/250s for inst.) whilst keeping the iso dial setting to "A". This way you'll get the exact shutter speed you need and the camera will set isos automatically. In case your images are too dark you may wish to choose a wider aperture and/on crank up the maximum iso value through the auto iso settings of the menu.

When I've had situations like this I've left the camera on, popped out the battery in on mode, waiting 5 seconds and then turned off, re-inserted the battery and then switched on and it righted itself. Only happened a couple of times in probably 20,000 images however.
LikameLeica Posted October 21, 2024 Share #79 Posted October 21, 2024 I updated my M11-P to the latest firmware yesterday evening, following all the directions including the recommendation to reset the camera to factory settings. I noticed right away that the "Live View" flickers in certain indoor lighting settings and it is more pronounced when half pressing the shutter button to lock in exposure. This is not something that I noticed prior to the latest firmware update. Anyone else noticing this behavior?

Indoors, outdoors, the flickering is an off-and-on issue with all the M11 variants I've had, including the M11M. The solution for me was to move exposure preview to only work with the shutter button halfway pressed. That keeps the exposure preview from jumping around rapidly as I move the camera.
