No idea what you mean under ”these”, as an owner I am closely following the M10-R BP market and shared how many I have seen sold at this price in one of my posts. Market does not adhere to theory and philosophy, it goes by supply and demand, not caring at all of what we discuss here in LUF.

You will never get top dollar when you bring any Leica into the store for cash or trade, BP is no exception. But there’s commission sales where you can set top price - and it will sell.

Well I don't doubt you re the price but in the UK I don't think they'll won't move at this price - I'm about 15 ft away from the BP in the Leica store as I'm picking up my Q3 43. I should go and blow the dust off the BP. The OP got one at a great price so well done him!!

I’m glad OP bought the camera.

OK now here’s a question for you fellow M10R BP owners: once the inevitable M11 BP comes out, what will you do?

Keep your M10RBP? Upgrade to the M11BP? Buy it and own both?

I was thinking of selling my 10R BP because my Q2 took over as my main (digital) camera about 18 months ago after a 14 day "shootout" between them on the Amalfi Coast.

Ironically... lately my iPhone 15 Pro seems to be taking the place of my Q2.  On my last several outings (Isle of Man, Cheddar Gorge, London), the iPhone was the only "camera" I carried.  Oh well, life goes on/things change! ;)

I’ll be keeping the M10-R BP. There is no way I’d be able to get a deal close to what the late Leica SoHo gave me ($7500 for a Mint- M10-R BP including original boxes, packaging, battery, strap, ThumbsUp, etc.). And it appears the M11s still have enough freezing and over-exposure issues to keep the thread alive over in that forum.

I learned a long time ago - BUY WHAT YOU WANT!  Otherwise you will always be wishing you had purchased it.  Often what then ends up happening is you buy the available/cheaper substitute and later buy the one you wanted and have ended up wasting money.  There is no substitute for an item that you want - whatever the reason.   Logic does not enter into this; if it did, NOBODY would be buying Leica cameras!

You should do WHATEVER your heart tells you. I have made similar sacrifices and NEVER regretted it (I own M10-R Black Paint as well). Sell any glass, sell any body, minimalize, optimize, IT IS JUST MATERIAL STUFF. Leica M10-R Black Paint is gorgeous, you will remember that love EVERY TIME you hold it in your hand and use it. All your lenses are super easily replacable and maybe you will realize that a different focal length or a different lens model works even better for you along the way. Remember, in deciding what is good and what is bad for a given individual, the ultimate criterion can only be his own wants and his own preferences. It is called The desire-fulfillment theory of well-being.

The only correct answer.  Al should be the arch moderator on this site.

This is a slippery slope.

It does not work that way.

Think about some wealthy tourists who also happen to be Leica collectors. Bragging rights for these kind of products are somewhat bigger in cultures where modesty, frugality and understatement do not matter that much. So travelling to Europe, pickup up that hy..rare camera while in Mayfair, before dashing off to lunch at some Caprice group restaurant, is "it".

These buyers have no desire to trawl Ebay ads or local marketplace websites. They happily pay "full retail", as long as the experience is right.

And there is really nothing wrong with it.

Didn't say there is anything wrong, people with loads of money will always splash the cash.  I'm still waiting for someone richer than me to buy my M10R BP so I can recycle that wealth and buy the new Leica MA 70 year anniversary.  Then I'll sell it at a profit to someone even richer and put the balance towards my next Porsche 911 🤣

You are not well acquainted with GAS definition. It stands for compulsive accumulation of technical equipment, an obsession. The OP just wants a single upgrade from M10 to a better and nicer camera he always wanted but could not buy. I see absolutely no GAS here.

I have to admit this place is safe and you get plenty of friendly advice. I like tomato, you like poTato, potato, toMato... I ended up buying an M10-R BP after browsing this forum. Thank you!
