Regarding the number 43, there will be a special Leica meeting in October this year in France, and the restaurant chosen for lunch offers specials for 43euro. This cant be coincidence, right?

So it's just a special edition Q3 that comes with a 43 euro meal... and Leica will charge an extra 1500 euro for it.

I'd be interested in a Q with 43mm f2 APO lens, it would be fun and useful for the doc/BTS and event work I do. It might even replace my M9 with Distagon 35. Well, maybe not, but it's intriguing to consider.

Autofocus and relative compactness would be the reasons why I'd choose a possible Q 43mm over a M or SL with Summicron 40. Lesser cost - as I already own a M - is why I would choose a Summicron 40 over a Q 43. And having shot with a Minolta 40/2, I remain unconvinced that it would be as optically good and useful as a Q 43.
