Ditto - my M11-M wouldn't power-down after the update.  Had to pull the battery.  Ditto with the M11.  Must be related to our settings.

My M11-M did the same thing when updated from app. It said the update was done on the screen so just pulled the battery. Mine did not ask me to save presets but presets were there when powered back on.

That AWB part is interesting. They didn't mention anything about white balance. Anyone can confirm that? Is it really better? Less magenta?

Ask again in a few weeks.   I took one picture looking out my window after updating via the FOTOS app.   It looked fine.  By fine I mean I opened the image in LrC and compared it to the view I shot with WB set to As Shot.  Colors were good.  Slight difference in tone which mostly went away when I increased the exposure slider by 1/2 a stop in LrC.  That may be because my metering was set to Highlight Weighted.

Anyway, promising, but it will take time and lots of shots in different situations to really tell.

A few weeks? I took a couple of shots immediately after the update and can confirm that AWB was not changed.

I took about a dozen pictures to test and I don't see any difference in AWB either. I tried both DNG & DNG+JPEG.

updated M11P via Fotos - no issues.  I can confirm the camera feels faster - startup is faster. Camera does not freeze if I go to playback immediately taking a picture - it does wait, but does not freeze like before. Turning off camera immediately after taking a photo does not freeze too, instead says on the screen - saving image and turns off after couple of moments. Seems like they might have fixed a number of issues for sure.

Will be keeping a close eye on this thread with lots of interest. We should know fairly soonish I feel if most of the freezing issues have been resolved. I'm guessing they added additional instructions/logic to make sure writing to the memory/memory card completes before trying to shutdown/access etc. Charging my battery right now to do the update after.

Hi,

I updated from 2.0.2 to 2.1.1 via SD card. So far so good.

One comment on the update process: my M11 never restarts itself after firmware updates, it just goes dark at the end of the update process without any success message. I always have to manually turn it off and on again, but so far that has worked every time. I would imagine that this can be quite confusing for the average user and therefore should be improved.

Hoping the nasty freezing issue is resolved for good.

Best & Liebe Grüße,
Ulli

Updating via Fotos said 'finished updating, please restart your camera'. After turning off i had to wait 10-15 secs to actually turn off but all was ok.

Updated both M11 and M11 Mono, and it seems so far the FW has solved a couple of issues: 1. consistent sharpness of JPEG preview of RAW file (previously only the first shot preview is sharp, though this doesn't affect RAW files); 2. much better AWB; 3. reduced magenta tint, which gives more accurate color overall; 4. no camera freeze so far (I didn't have that many to begin with). Very happy so far with firmware 2.1.1. and I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Hi There

As far as I’m aware there hasn’t been any change to the colour of the images, or the white balance, auto or otherwise!

Update from 2.0.2 to 2.1.1 worked like a charm, including automated restart. Removed my SD prior update and formatted it externally in parallel. Formatted the internal storage after the update and prior re-inserting the SD card again. Some custom settings were gone after the update. Had only one freeze and one corrupted file in 5 months on 2.0.2, so would hope it doesn’t get worse.
