Chris_Jenks Posted May 6, 2024 Share #41 Posted May 6, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I’ve been using a Billingham Hadley Pro for around 20 years now. At first it was my take-to-work briefcase, after retirement I used it on the street with my Nikon and then Fuji gear and for the last 3 years as a born again Leica fan, for a body and 2 or 3 lenses. The Hadley Pro is a stylish, robust and functional but of gear!

Kiwimac Posted May 9, 2024 Share #42 Posted May 9, 2024 (edited) As soon as I heard, I bought two Fogg bags. i couldn’t find the leather one they introduced (relatively) recently that @jonoslack reviewed. Edited May 9, 2024 by Kiwimac
T25UFO Posted May 9, 2024 Share #43 Posted May 9, 2024 Yes, very sad if Fogg bags go out of production, although perhaps no surprise. Robert White (UK) seems to be the only stockist with some new bags still available, but most now showing 'out of stock'. https://www.robertwhite.co.uk/bags-more/shop-by-brand/fogg-specialist-bags.html?limit=36 As most remark they are expensive, but you have to pay for hand made quality and they do last. My favourite is the 'bumble bee' which I bought when Nigel and bee were making bags in London - it has the Wanstead address on the tab inside - probably around 1989. It has worn very well, as you can see below 🙂 Welcome, dear visitor! T25UFO Posted May 9, 2024 Share #44 Posted May 9, 2024 Just an update for anyone interested in Fogg bags . . . they are still in production and Nigel has taken on a new assistant 🙂 Production has slowed because Nigel has been unwell, but more products will eventually flow through to the appointed dealerships. 2
AndrewPiper Posted May 10, 2024 Author Share #45 Posted May 10, 2024 Just spoke to Leica Shop in Melbourne [Australia ] and they wont sell outside of Australia .. Well that sucks. NZ Leica DONT sell Oberwerth. Im interested in Harry and Sally bag if anyone is selling one..? Thank guys.
Deejaybeephoto Posted May 11, 2024 Share #46 Posted May 11, 2024 Domke F10 in black for me (M10 and 2 lenses). Unobtrusive and very manageable - it stays upright when placed on the floor unlike the Billingham Hadley Pro I had which I also found too bulky and drew attention. I’ve also got a small Billingham 72 which is great for one camera with lens attached. I really like Domkes though. They’re flexible, not over-padded and I find the straps very comfortable. I’ve also got an F2 from my Nikon mirrorless days - too big for my limited (but hopefully expanding 😂) Leica gear, but I can’t bear to part with it.

Jeff +1 The availability of Oberwerth bags is not that great in the US, either. Ordering directly works well.

I’m not a big fan, having owned one, but they do seem easily accessible from places like B&H, Leica Miami, Camera West/ San Francisco, Tamarkin, etc… basically across country. Jeff B&H, Leica Miami, and Camera West/ San Francisco have a few models in stock. The models that I needed were not in stock. I would always check the Leica stores and B&H before ordering from Oberwerth, though Oberwerth ships quickly via DHL.
Knightspirit Posted May 13, 2024 Share #51 Posted May 13, 2024 I have had all kinds of bags - as I'm sure most on here have - and I prefer the Billingham for the Leica. I have both the Hadley small and the Hadley small pro (same size). I recommend getting a used one - as they last forever and are not too hard to find on Ebay. I have four Billingham bags, down from 5, and I only bought one of them new. I use the big ones for video and lighting stuff. In my Hadley - I have the M11 body, an 18mm Zeiss, 28mm Elmarit, VM 40mm, Leica 75mm APO and the 135mm APO. PLUS - a visoflex 2, spare battery, neutral density filter, polarizer and split neutral density filter. Plus - a lens brush! Get the shoulder pad (an extra) - it's worth it if you carry as much as I do...
peterm32 Posted May 15, 2024 Share #52 Posted May 15, 2024 I use ONA bags, when I have a Leica M and two additional lenses with me I take "the Bowery". Another ONA The Bowery is used with the Leica Q2 as an EDC pack. Larger ONA bags when working with two cameras and several lenses.

My M11/35mm Summilux is incoming in a about 3 weeks or so as it trips its way around Europe in a friends suitcase. I hope to take it away on holiday with my to the UK so am interested in members thoughts please on a suitable bag..sholder or back pack type. I may have another lens but that is probably all. Everything else can stay at home or be elsewhere. I dont have any preferences currently or a budget so any and all ideas welcomed..please. Thanks. all advice appreciated Andrew. the M combination bag Leica sell made by Billingham is a nice option. I have the black one and shadily small which is the same as the small pro but no handle on top. Both allow have room for an iPad mini inside Its a toss up but if I'm expecting to be in as crowd I take the blackleica bag as it has a single from zippered pocket in stead of the two snapped ones. I usually put my phone in there if I am carrying one. Ona also make a nice bag in this size, the Bowery which can be had in leather or canvas. Is not quite as tall as the billingham and leica bag and front pockets not asa roomy. but a very nice bag none the less.
Sandokan Posted May 17, 2024 Share #54 Posted May 17, 2024 To look like a CaNikonSon shooter (and thereby avoid someone trying to steal my red dot kit), I use a Mindshift Photocross13 in grey for street shooting. It will hold a M11 and a couple of lenses plus a MP and extra rolls of film or Q2. Macbook Air plus iPad or 14" laptop also fit with room for sandwiches and water and rain jacket strapped to outside. I am average size in UK and this bag doesnt get in the way when on public transport. The waist belt reduces strain on back and shoulders when the bag is full like above. It is my all day bag and when in a restaruant or cafe, I can strap the waist belt to the leg of the chair which would delay a sneaky thief. I have the Photocross15 when travelling by plane and have option of taking two carry on bags. This is a backpack but works well for access when swung round because the zip and access are on the side. this holds a lot more, does get in the way in crowded lifts or public transport, but waist belt helps reduce weight on shoulders. I do also have the Hadley One - which is the most stylish bag I have for when I meet up with fellow red dot shooters. The Hadley 445 Mk2 bag is used as an office bag when I have to carry my two laptops, plus keyboard, mouse, power supplies, cables, docking station, tea bags (the offices have rubbish selection) and headphones. It is big, but enough for all this whilst I struggled with the Hadley One or Tumi to get it all in. the killer was the 2nd laptop (I work for two companies). S58 Posted May 17, 2024 Share #55 Posted May 17, 2024 (edited) I'm using the ONA Prince Street. Fits my M11P, 75 APO, 28Lux, 21 SEM, 50 Voigt APO, SF60 Flash and some small extras with some room left over. 100% leather super high quality. Only criticism would be a little weighty. But... seriously nice camera bag. Made in USA. Also has removable shoulder strap in addition to the small hand strap shown. Welcome, dear visitor! S58 Posted May 17, 2024 Share #57 Posted May 17, 2024 I will add that the second image does not give an accurate representation of the capacity of the bag. I use a couple of extra spare dividers and have the M11P standing on end with lens attached facing forward. This creates an additional bay. I also have my flash facing the other way which creates another bay. Enough space for a lens. It really is quite spacious though the front pockets are really only useful for something like a small notebook. Or a small light meter.
Jeff S Posted May 18, 2024 Share #58 Posted May 18, 2024 Only criticism? How about gaping holes at top corners for water entry? There are also old threads here on ONA quality issues (e.g., failing straps) and less than stellar customer service. Maybe they’ve improved, but there are other quality options that are lighter, more flexible and weather resistant, made by companies with outstanding service feedback and more focused on photographers. Btw, most ONA bags and straps are made in the Dominican Republic, not the US. Jeff
Spindrift Posted May 22, 2024 Share #59 Posted May 22, 2024 Really enjoying the Peak Design 6L Everyday Sling pack. It packs my M11-P and 3 lenses. One lens attached and two on each side. There is not much room in the front zipper pocket but enough for small stuff. Welcome, dear visitor!
