Yes. It is a bit but they are accessible. As is the lens release, which isn’t the case with all bodies (Sony, Canon). The grip on the SL3 is *just* big enough for me to use the camera normally for short periods. I definitely wouldn’t leave it on all the time. I took it to Iceland last year but not India. This is for when I go out with a tripod and/or if support for the SL3 comes to my Polaris. Other than that it’ll stay home. If I pack the tripod I pack the Atoll. Advertisement Posted April 22, 2024 Posted April 22, 2024 Hi FlashGordonPhotography, Take a look here L Bracket for SL3?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ollek Posted June 23, 2024 Share #22  Posted June 23, 2024 Finally some one is delivering. The Peipro L-bracket for SL3 is available on the Peipro AliExpress store. Order one and it’s not its way from China. Guess it will turn up on eBay soon also. Peipro SL3 L-bracket I have the Peipro SL2 plate and been missing one for the SL3 since I got it on release day. Even done jobs on the SL2 instead of the SL3 because I’m missing the plate that much.  Hopefully the quality is as good as the plate for SL2.  3
albireo_double Posted June 23, 2024 Share #23  Posted June 23, 2024 The Arca Swiss plate for Leica R works fine with the SL3. Horizontal only, no L-bracket.
Ken Abrahams Posted June 24, 2024 Share #24  Posted June 24, 2024 I fashioned a "stubby" L bracket purchased from online shop to work with the SL3. The flip screen was blocked by a lip on the bracket so it was filed off, smoothed over and painted. Great for $twenty dollar purchase. I keep the bracket attached for tripod use and also for extra grip. The bracket enables me to keep the camera stable and hold in my left hand. Welcome, dear visitor! I think I am in; I mostly use the bottom plate, so I hardly loose/thighten any screws… Plus side (based on what I see): Small, light, tight, with taps to prevent rotation, access to battery, no soft material between camera and plate, expandable (despite being a bottom-plate user myself). Negative side: Cost (?), storage of sd-card (really not negative, but I prefer other ways to store memory cards…), whatever may turn up after some use. beewee Posted July 3, 2024 Share #30  Posted July 3, 2024 (edited) For a minimalist Arca and RRS lever clamp compatible plate, I prefer Peak Design’s plate. It has corner holes for attaching PD anchors for straps. Edited July 3, 2024 by beewee

ollek Posted July 6, 2024 Share #32  Posted July 6, 2024 (edited) Yesterday the Peipro plate arrived from China. Took around 2 weeks. The build quality is as nice as the Peipro SL2-plate. Feels really solid and the fit I perfect. There is a few design upgrades from the previous one. Easier to reach the ports on the left size with the L-plate attached. A place to attached a strap on the right side.  Welcome, dear visitor! fotonutzz Posted July 22, 2024 Share #34  Posted July 22, 2024 Thanks for the heads-up on PeiPro. Just ordered mine from Amazon and it seems to be cheaper than ordering from RRS........ if they ever decide to make it.  It's essentially a copy of the RRS. Only thing is that the PRCs decided to make one for the SL3 whereas RRS is still dragging their feet.  Welcome, dear visitor! Fran D Posted July 24, 2024 Share #35  Posted July 24, 2024 Thanks for the heads up on the Peipro L plate. Just ordered one. As for RRS, I suspect they wait until there are enough SL3s in the marketplace to get their plate out. Maybe not. Frankly, I used to buy their plates, but some are just wrong in design and always too expensive, Of course, I shoot Leica, so how can I write that? Personally, I've had great luck with JJC grip brackets. We'll see about this Peipro. Again, thanks.
lightsourcekauai Posted July 26, 2024 Share #36  Posted July 26, 2024 (edited) I have 3 Legged Thing QR11 2.0. I have been pleased with it thus far. I can open the doors to charge the batteries and use the shutter release cable. I wish it could be flush with the camera, but the doors cannot be accessed when the L plate is moved against the SL3. If one does not use the upper doors for mic, shutter cable, and  etc.., then the L Plate can be moved closer to the camera while still allowing safe access to the charging port. I will likely consider the RRS L plate when completed,  but for now I am finding this to be an effective  solution for SL3 with battery grip. Welcome, dear visitor! fotonutzz Posted July 29, 2024 Share #37  Posted July 29, 2024 (edited) Mine just arrived today.  Quality looks on par with the RRS, but a lot cheaper. In fact, I kinda like it as it doesn't have the RRS logo in front. The PeiPro logo is at the back of the L-bracket which is better.  The base of the PeiPro is an improvement over the RRS's plate for the SL2 as it incorporated a loop for the sling strap in the middle of the plate. Apart from that, I really appreciate the allen key housing as it won't fall off like the RRS plate.  I lost two allen keys on my SL2's plate. Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! The base of the PeiPro is better designed. Allen key is held in place with magnets and it own housing so that it won't out so easily. The RRS plate is relatively plain and simple. The allen key is only held in place by magnets. Edited July 29, 2024 by fotonutzz
 Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! deekay Posted August 2, 2024 Share #38 Â Posted August 2, 2024 I too have received the Peipro. I'm fussy about fit and finish, and am impressed with this L-plate. It's well designed, nicely finished and has a few thoughtful design touches. It works perfectly with my Arca Swiss type (RRS) clamp.
