Does this imply that the SL3 has the same Sony-ish yellow preference as the M10 and M11, which is not present in tM10-R images?

@helged lovely shots of your happy dog in tricky lighting conditions- I was wondering how many missed shots in the series versus in focus as demonstrated?

Somewhere around 80 percent hit rate. Not 'perfect', and with max 5 fps with AFc, SL3 is slow compared to the action cameras out there, but still useful. Perhaps not for a prof action photographer (and SL3 is not that type of camera nevertheless), but useful for my leisure shooting.

Thanks. Nice shoes, BTW.

Obviously I have the opportunity to play with any of the equipment in the store. A friend of mine has a Nikon lens 85 mum 1.2. I was quite impressed also with the Boca from this lens. So we happen to have a secondhand Sigma 85mm in the store I thought I’d give it a go. So I got my daughter to just sit down and took a couple of test pictures. I can see myself possibly buying this although I don’t do that many portraits I just not sure whether I can justify it

I have one Sigma lens for the SL system. I have the 150-600, thought it would be fun to have some long glass. I do not use it that often. I prefer the colors from my leica SL glass. I find the color from the Sigma to be a little on the green side. I can remove most of it post, however I have to change my lightroom preset I created when I use the Sigma. Renders fine in BW but not as nuanced when I print the files as the Leica glass. Most of this does not matter for social media as you would never see it. You can when you print.

I too have the Sigma 150 to 600, I got this because the 90 to 280 sometimes isn’t long enough so I decided to give that Sigma ago I found if I keep the ISO under 800 I’m quite happy with it. But like you it’s no match for Leica glass, I haven’t tried the Sigma long lanes on the SL3 yet I will give it a go soon. I’m actually waiting to get some more cameras stock and then I can take one for myself but customers have to come first.

I use my 90-280 more often when going long, yes like you I thought sometimes not long enough. I am interested in the new Sigma 500 and think it may be better than a zoom and may be the nice compromise for a long lens when needed. 90-280 for most then if not long enough just throw on a 500.  I have also thought about trying the 100-400 and the extension tube to see if it renders nicely. The good and bad of having the store is having to fulfill the customers first. Being able to have just about everything to try, however having to wait until enough stock on some of the new releases and the back orders to be filled.

It works fine. But it is slow compared to FF L-mount lenses. Actually, I would think I use manual focus on S-bodies 50 percent of the time, and even more often on SLx (when using S-lenses). And I always use focus magnification on tripod. In this way, I know that the focus is correct. The S-lenses are (still) brilliant, although not as optically perfect as eg the SL-primes. An important advantage with the mirrorless bodies is the use of the electronic shutter. This pretty much eliminates vibration, resulting in extraordinary sharp images. Furthermore, eg S180 doesn't have a counterpart in the L-mount landscape (yet), so it complemets the L-system nicely.

I still Have found that the S lenses are slow on the SL3. Just the lens. I will still manual focus them even with the SL3.

Larz Anderson Auto Collection

A fabulous collection and the oldest in the US, if I remember correctly...

And Isabel Anderson was the first woman in Massachusetts to receive a driver's license.

The Larz Anderson museum (shown in that picture) was a huge gothic-style chateau, first built as a stable with three floors for their horses and the horses' needs.   It began accumulating cars and the cars' accessories around 1899, when the Andersons began acquiring them and the horses got gradually displaced.  Now the basement is full of some really old and different cars (and bicycles) and the ground floor has a rotating collection of interesting sporty cars.  At Mrs Anderson's death in 1948, it became an endowed museum, open to the pubic.
