I've been horsing around with personal computers since the early 1980s. Anybody remember the Z80?

I cannot remember a single one, not one personal computer I've owned, from then to today, not one, that never got its knickers into the occasional twist and thus require a reboot, that bit of earnest feedback, that "gentle billy club to the back of the head." Whether because of a software bug, or because of some fool user error.

Es macht nichts!

Put a photo sensor and a lens on a computer and it's supposed to be as bulletproof as a mechanical camera?

Pull my other finger...

Look. Sometimes the film wouldn't stay gripped by the takeup spool.

Or something would snag with one of my expertly bulkloaded cartridges and I'd try to persuade it with the film advance lever and some sprocket holes would tear.

Or I'd screw up winding a six foot long slithering roll of 35mm film onto a Nikor reel (don't tell me that never happened).

Or I'd take the shot of a lifetime and discover I hadn't removed the lens cap.

Curse these camera makers! They can't make a camera that I can't screw up!! Or that can't screw up all by itself!

I should take up something steady and safe and reliable. Like fly fishing. Or dairy farming. Or passenger airliner manufacturing. Or the Olympic Javelin Catch.

Much better for my head...

Mostly trouble free here.  I have had some disconnects on with the leica app and perhaps, in the last 2 years, one or two times where i had to restart, but I would not characterize this as "issues" really. It never seemed m ore than a fluke and it has nto affected my experience or output...yet, anyway.

I'll admit I do have other camera systems so perhaps I average less shots exclusively on the M11 than most other owners?

M11, almost two years, no issues.

You mind sharing:

How do you have the storage options set up, and do you shoot in continuous or single mode? Also, do you have an estimate of how many images you have taken?

Thanks!

Internal storage copies to SD.

Manual exposure and single shot.

Scarce use of LV.

Spot metering.

Before culling, I'd estimate about 8,000+ images.

My setup is raw large files directly to SD, no jpg’s. Don’t really use internal storage

i format SD card after any shoot with over 50 shots or so, or after several shorter sessions.

single shooting

manual everything

 sometimes use visioflex

use profoto light system in studio

shoot coded and uncoded lenses

screen rendering standard and monochrome ( sometimes high contrast.)

in the field I sometimes transfer files through WiFi/ BT to app on iPad or phone to share images on the fly or tether ( these are the couple of times where it failed me)

mostly I download directly from SD card to computer.

no issues other than on tethering or transmitting over the air.
