When someone posted a long string of images on the M11M Images, they were "moderated"  by Jaapv with the following comment:

Very nice images and they certainly ring a bell with me, but please do not flood the thread, it drowns out other posters.

It is a recurring issue, and when needed, we will respond with a friendly request, which most posters will understand and honour. Sometimes (fortunately rarely) it goes into the extreme and then we will have to to moderate. As a norm we look for about four images , except when it is a sequential story. And even then, how long can a story be without getting boring ? 😉

Some of these threads appear to have turned into a contest to see who can post the most images, often including shots that barely fit the topic. I agree, it does get boring.

Brent,

This is your second attempt to disrupt the Barnack's Monthly thread and I have responded in the thread and to your PM and explained the ethos of this series of threads that has had a strong following who have posted an average of about 1,000 posts per month for the past 16 years.  If this thread and the way it works doesn't appeal to you then might I respectfully suggest that you look elsewhere and leave the loyal contributors to Barnack's Monthly to continue enjoying the threads?

Pete.

My intention has never been to disrupt this thread. I think you're aware of that. I was simply trying to make it more enjoyable for those people who post an image or two, only to see their posts get buried and pushed off the page by people who post long strings of images.

Since you've made it clear that your objective is quantity, not quality, I will happily accept your suggestion.

One to get us going again.

(For the avoidance of doubt there is no hidden meaning in this picture; it was a happy combination of a projected image and a model's choice of pose.)

It's a bit sad for one of our main contributors, in several sub_forums as well,  particularly as I agree with his sentiments. Some contributors just flood the subject with so many years, so many cameras, and so many subjects...often not really on subject...as if they are trying to to get they're count up.

But I'll  keep contributing as I have for nearly 10 years.

All best..
