SD Card not formatting.

Hi all, just bought a lovely Leica X Vario, mint, didn’t come with a SD card so bought a 256GB card, it’s a Scandisk extreme Pro SDXC UHS-1 card.
The camera is saying it can’t format it, have i purchased the wrong card?

It is an old camera. I don’t think it supports SDXC. A 16 GB SDHC card is ample. Those massive cards are only useful for extended video on modern cameras.

I checked. It is supposed to support SDXC but I still think it chokes on the card size. Use 16 or 32 GB.

Did as recommended and bought a Scandisk ultra 64gb SDXC, IT WORKED WITHOUT EVEN FORMATTING IT.

so it’s the GB size that’s the issue I think rather than then the speed.

Don't say "old" - it's "vintage."
