SD card not working on my M9/Monochrome

Hi All

 

Can someone let me know what can i do to get the SD card to read in my M9 and monochrome? I already formatted the card several times! It's not locked, and it's not corrupted, it's a brand-new card. PLEASE HELP !!!

What type and size of card? These are old  cameras and cannot use the newest card types

I hope not I can't return it. Its a Sandisk Extreme PLUS 64gb 170mb/s.

As @jaapv says the M9 needs older slower smaller cards, I use Sandisk 16gb 45 mb/s cards with no issues.

Yes, smaller size only. 16 gb, slow speed maximum. On my M8 i only use 4 or 8gb cards.

Higher capacity cards also work. You just need to format them properly. Up to 128gb capacity has been succesfully tested IIRC. But who needs that much anyway!? I think I use 32gb (it coule be 16) in mine.

SDXC was introduced the same year as the M9. Therefore it is not surprising that the M9 manual indicates support only for older SD and SDHC cards. The maximum standard capacity for SDHC cards is 32GB, but it is of course possible that some manufacturer has produced bigger, non-standard SDHC cards.

M9 card write speeds become slow with bigger cards, so smaller ones are preferred anyway. I have found the optimal card size to be 8GB, but also 16GB works. Unfortunately these smaller card sizes are hard to find nowadays, particularly the recommended ones from Sandisk.
