Last night I had the privilege of being at a performance by Sona Jobarteh, considered the best Kora player in the world, and one of the very few women who even play the instrument. I could write a long introduction here to the images posted below, but the best way to tell you about her is to provide a link to the CBS 60 Minutes  piece that was done about her recently.

She recently played just up the road from me in Truro MA, and this spring she was awarded a Ph.D from the prestigious Berkeley College of Music in Boston.

Seriously impressive...
