Danner Posted May 21, 2023 Share #2 Posted May 21, 2023 (edited) Bummer. This is why I keep my focus to minimum distance and aperture to smallest opening size as the default condition. Edited May 21, 2023 by Danner
Huss Posted May 21, 2023 Share #3 Posted May 21, 2023 This can literally happen in a few seconds. https://www.dagcamera.com/store/p145/How_Long_Does_It_Take_To_Burn_a_Hole_in_a_Shutter_Curtain%3F.html

LocalHero1953 Posted May 21, 2023 Share #5 Posted May 21, 2023 You have posted your question in the international section of the forum (which uses English, although we can all use Google Translate these days). You may get more recommendations about German repairers if you ask in the German section of the forum.
Michael Geschlecht Posted May 21, 2023 Share #6 Posted May 21, 2023 (edited) Hello larlarsbec, Willkommen an das Forum. I had a similar thing happen with an M3 before people first landed on the Moon. The original shutter curtain was repaired by Leitz with a "goppish" black material that is "cosmetically challenged". The same shutter curtain still works fine today. Please try to ACTIVELY remember to keep the camera/lens pointed down & away from the Sun, or the Sun's reflections. You have to do this all of the time. It soon becomes an easy thing to do.
