I picked up my Q3 yesterday evening. AF seems to be a decent improvement, but need to test it properly today.

They asked me not to post photos of it or from it until 3PM today, so this confirms the embargo time of 3pm reported earlier.

You are breaking the 3 PM embargo by sharing the AF information :(.

No, I am not reporting him :). However, after being banned for repeatedly breaking the embargo on M11, I thought he would be more careful.

Its something that can be added via a firmware update

I know, but it seems that traditionalists are okay with it because it simulates a classical range finder camera regardless if it is really useful, especially with 75 oder even 90mm… what a pity :(

Maybe when more people demand it it might have a change to get implemented in a future firmware update… not sure.

There's a firmware update coming out later today, but I think it's for AF stuff, which is acceptable in photo mode, although way below Sony, Canon or even Ricoh, and totally unusable for video.

you're a nice guy, please dont get banned again!

It's nice to see you back Steven, you add a great deal to this forum.

The image quality is really good. So sharp I might need to diffuse it a bit.

The original Q is too sharp for me, I shoot it with a Zeiss softar.  Often times reducing texture or clarity in post.  This is contrary to what most like.

Red Dot Cameras removed Q2 from website, was there hour ago, so I guess at 1PM UK time there will be Q3 - will go to Mayfair store and Aperture on Saturday - I hope there will be a chance to try it out

Well here's a first in over 60 years of buying and using Leica cameras. The UK price (can't say what as yet, for another hour), came as a pleasant surprise.

I can imagine if the Swedish price is anything to go by (after adjusting VAT) 😉

Q2 Dawn is still there - last product at a discounted price - plus lots of Q2 accessories.  Leica Store Manchester has a similar discount on the Ghost but still lists Disney at recommended retail.  There could be some good deals following official release of the Q3.  A new model doesn't diminish the older model - there's not a lot wrong with the Q2 as Leica's sales figures testify.

Sadly for me, Leica is not yet listing a dumb grip. I need a grip for my arthritic hands but have no need for wireless charging, with now a total of 5 batteries which will fit (4 from my SL601). I may wait and get a third party grip for the Q3 from the likes of IDS. I have an excellent KameraKraft grip for my M10-R with a battery door in it.
