That goes light years beyond being an abomination.

The term "crimes against humanity" comes to mind...

What's comical is joining the wait list...

I can only imagine that the guys who come up with these LE ideas are partially paid in very high quality weed.

People who dress up as star wars characters??

they clearly know their market segments.

I think rather than knowing their buyer segments they simply make random eclectic and disconnected choices. There’s no consistent thematic linkage between the LEs and the brand except perhaps “Creativity” which is so generic as to be meaningless.

Where Leica does well is with consistent theming, like the “Reporter” series or the “Ghost” series. Leica could do variations on those two themes almost ad-infinitum if they wanted. Look at the way brands like Adidas, Converse and Nike build sub brands that way. They’re very successful, not cheap, and create huge anticipation and awareness for the brand overall at launch.

Leica’s end of term report when it comes to LEs is “Capable of doing much better”

The incessant moralizing of "true Leica believers" makes me want to get the Q2 "Disney" out of spite 😂

I will (most likely) not get it, as I already have three Q2s, and Q3 is around the corner. However, I will not look down on those who will get it and enjoy it.

For those who wonder why Leica picked that design now, read the OP.

I must confess that I rather like it - it is a. fun design with a story.behind it. Some people  take this far too seriously.  Leica is not a religion, Special editions are not blasphemy. 🙄

Same here.

Just don’t understand people who feel because they don’t like something it’s stupid.

I like it, but not for me to use.  So much fun.

It'll be very popular in Japan with their huge camera culture.

I came to Leica in 2018 because I wanted serious, high quality German equipment to advance my photography. A DLux 7 was followed by a Q2, then adding an Sl2-S, and also a Q2 M. This cartoon Q2 strikes me as even more frivolous than the Seal Q2 and Bond Q2's. To me such editions are silly, juvenile, and diminish Leica as a serious photography brand.

And that's what makes the world interesting...thankfully everyone doesn't have to think the same...or like the same things.
