Okay, we like the expression, but what about the dots on the nose and corners of the mouth, desert sand or cake crumbs?

Thanks! The dots are sweat and dust.

I think that there are at least two factors that makes these portraits so compelling.  It goes without saying that there is mastery of the equipment however, in order to capture the evident rapport, there has to be a substantial level of humanity, respect and empathy involved.  I believe that it's the second that makes all the difference and elevates this work above so many of the portraits that we see in our daily lives.

Thank you so much, David, for these very kind words.

90% of the pictures you find here are in the category "test shots" to show qualities of a certain lens or camera. to be honest.

BUT this one here is a picture that tells a story, that the personality of a human being behind the eyes and is something that you keep locking at. and you never ask did you do this with an M10, M11, 50 APO, 35 Summilux or whatever. It's a PICTURE... an ARTWORK. Great!

One will not find such an impressive picture very often .... simply a wonderfull portrait
