Advertisement Posted March 20, 2023 Posted March 20, 2023 Hi M240_, Take a look here I recently brought a M240 MP like new for 3200 is it worth it?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted March 20, 2023 Share #2 Posted March 20, 2023 If you were happy to pay for it then it is worth it. Drown your buyer’s remorse by using it. It is a fantastic camera. 10

fotomas Posted March 20, 2023 Share #4 Posted March 20, 2023 Congrads!. I'd payed the same for mine. Could be there are now some lower prices out there, but I was fine with it. The condition of the camera was good, so I don't care. Great camera!
strangeboy Posted March 20, 2023 Share #5 Posted March 20, 2023 (edited) To put a finer point on it, I would say that's a bit on the high side... though some would say everything Leica is a bit on the high side 😜 But @jaapv is essentially correct: Grab that thing and pop a lens on it and "let it do what it do..." Enjoy! Edited March 20, 2023 by strangeboy
gotium Posted March 20, 2023 Share #6 Posted March 20, 2023 By definition it was worth it! It will be even more worth it once you see the photos from it!

The answer is very hard - it does not what the "3200" was... Was it Kwacha, Baht, Ngultrum, Tögrög, Dollar, Dong, Euro, hazelnuts, Pounds, Won, Balboa, Shilling, Yen...? And also, since it is already bought, what will you do if the community says it is not worth it? Let us know!!! USD. And, I would essentially play with it for a few days. I shall keep it if I love it, if not return it. But just want to know others' experiences as well.

RayD28 Posted March 22, 2023 Share #11 Posted March 22, 2023 Seems to be a fair price. You mention the potential to return so I assume you bought from a dealer. If there is warranty for a year it's a great price.
tsleica Posted March 22, 2023 Share #12 Posted March 22, 2023 (edited) I got my 240 MP from dealer w/1 year Leica warrantee for about the same price a few weeks ago. Black in LN cond. w/no box. This price included 1 used battery and 1 new. Brand new leather case & LN EV2 too. Fancy strap w/charger and caps. And gone thru for defects by dealer as Leica doesnt seem to care and just ships things out and lets the dealer and customer do the QC and then...fix it if there are issues. Prices are all over the place. Ebay is crazy high. I think its a great camera. I needed video or I would have looked around for an M10. I figure wholesale from Leica to dealer for used MP 240 is probably around $1200-usd for camera alone but am not sure. Could be more could be less. I dont think condition is a factor here, Leica charges the same price to dealer for well used or LN. The dealer gets what they get from Leica and charge accordingly. This is what I experienced..but others may differ. I was surprised at the condition of my camera when I first saw it...I told my dealer..this thing is brand spankin new..maybe a couple hundred clicks on it if that. A dentists camera. He said..yes indeed! He gave me a Leica hat too! Edited March 22, 2023 by tsleica add

What about 3200 Wojos? 😁 @M240_ That seems like a reasonable price - perhaps a little on the high side, but you did not get robbed IMHO.
Borna Posted March 23, 2023 Share #15 Posted March 23, 2023 Great buy, enjoy it. I myself bought one during the beginning of this year, however not mint condition as yours perhaps.

Harout62 Posted March 25, 2023 Share #17 Posted March 25, 2023 It seems like prices on the M240 and MP240. Is definitely on an uptick. This past spring little less then a year ago I purchased a Mint MP240 silver for 2800 CND. Today very little is out on the Market and one is up for sale for 4300 CND. Which is aprox 3500 US
Leon Berg Posted March 25, 2023 Share #18 Posted March 25, 2023 I bought mine for 3k euro (3200 dollar) in black paint and also mint, from a dealer. I love it. But I already think about returning it and getting the M10P, that they also offered for 5500, also mint. why? Because I have too much time and too little problems. but in the end these are all valid questions. It’s hard to let them go. one thing and only one thing helps! take the camera from the shelf every morning and take a photo from the first beautiful moment of the day, the window light caressing a bowl of fruit, your partner sleeping peacefully, a blossoming branch of your favorite plant… and you won’t think about prices and ifs and shoulds.. ahhh f* that.. I get the M10P on Monday! 3
Chris W Posted March 26, 2023 Share #19 Posted March 26, 2023 I bought my M240 for £1800 (about 2,200 Euros?) about two years ago. personally I wouldn't pay more than £2,250.

You get them here around 2500 Euros for the regular one, used and from private hand. Prices are still quite high. from a dealer they are around 3k euros. I was actually lucky with mine. 3k for a black M-P some dealers ask for 3,5-4K for the black M-P. 3k was my limit for the 240 and I think it was worth it. of course 1-2k would have been reasonable for a camera that age. But reason doesn’t go along with Photography and especially for Leica haha.
