Quick question I have the Visoflex 2. It does NOT work with my M11 of the M10 Mono ...... But id did work with an M11 in the Leica Sydney store

Firmware up to date on both cameras ... Am I right in thinking the Visoflex 2 should work with the Mono ??

Yes, it should work with both cameras.

I thought it should work with both , but how do we explain how it instantly worked fine with an M11 in the Leica shop

Because the M11 was in LV mode in the shop while yours is in RF mode perhaps? You may wish to check this on the status screen (12).

Is it the camera or the Visa

Did you remember to turn on Live View on the camera, it has to be on for the Visoflex to work.

Leslie22,  The Visoflex 2 has been known to malfunction.  If you bought it recently, the Leica Store in Sydney should swap it out for a new one, no questions asked.  I suggest you take both cameras with you to the store and see if they can replicate the malfunction.  Based on my experience, Leica does not repair the finders, they simply replace them.  If the store doesn't want to oblige you with a swap, then I would call Leica Australia in Melbourne and discuss the issue with them.  They are normally very helpful.  r/ Mark

Further to my last comment ……. The Screen will turn off when your eye or hand goes to the viso , and turn back on when removed , so “it knows” the viso is there but no image in viso finder

what bugs me is that it doesnt work with your M's but it worked with the one on sydney store.. my take is, try on another M, see how it goes, seemed like it should work just fine on your M though it didnt show up the liveview

my case was, the viso didn't work at all on my m11, the evf menu wasn;t even highlighted, so it didnt detect it, while it worked fine on my m10r

what's the case with your m10m, have you tried further? oh make sure the m10m is on the latest firmware too since it activates the visoflex 2 capability

Hi to all

Just to clear up any confusion.

Both M11 & M10 Mon have the latest firmware , both were in Live mode.

On the M11 the camera "knew" the visa was attached as the rear screen went black each time I put my eye to the Visa viewfinder.

No response at all on the Mono

As I said earlier the Visa worked perfectly on the M11 at the Sydney Leica shop ?

My conclusion is (I may be wrong) that the problem lies with the Visoflex ..... perhaps the contacts?

The problem for me is that I'm shortly going on a longish trip to Europe and don't want to risk sending my M11 to Leica as they suggested , last time it took three months.

Hope this clears up any confusion

If you are in Europe you can walk in at Leica and cut out the three months, which is the average Internet complaint time but not the actual average turnaround time.
