Unexpected house maintenance issue requiring urgent funds... The M8 and M6 Millennium will be reconverted into currency...:)

Well you might observe that I am not selling any lenses :) or my M9.

Well I'm happy you're not leaving the Clan :) Leica is like Hotel California.

My chrome M6 classic has been my very first Leica, I bought two years ago.

It entirely turned my ideas about taking pictures upside down.

Even after getting many other fantastic cameras, to use, I swore, I won't sell the M6 - got to hold on to it - set up and shot in a hurry with my freshly overhauled Graphic 4x5 with Schneider 135 f4.7 lens on Ilford HP5.

Here's my M6 after the finder downgrade/restoration. Leica USA sent a red dot at no charge, which I covered with some matt black paint I had left over from a two-hood job. It's not difficult to make the raised lettering silver, but I prefer the dot as it is.

If it is from an early batch and has in fact not been used, there's a possibility that the lubricants in it will have hardened.

I didn't mean to confuse anyone. I know that it has in fact been used. Its an '89 serial. The previous owner did in fact use the camera, but the original owner was a bit of a collector and apparently used it very sparingly. It literally does not have a scratch or mark on it. I sort of wish it did! Now I'm going to have to baby it!

I love this camera, especially with the the new mod...

I have to admit, the M6 feels better in my hands than the M9

:) I've held an M9 twice in my life and was surprised how thick/deep it is. My M6TTL feels very slender in comparison.

Forgive my ignorance, but which lens is that?

No Philipus is a leather strap made and sell from a Bologna Leica seller, Fotoprisma.

ciao

Niccolò

Ah Fotoprisma! One of my favourite dealers. Andrea Ricci is a most helpful person.

Beautiful strap indeed

I took both my M6 and M9 on a month-long consulting trip, doing the tourist routine along the way. I loved using the M6 more - just something about the handling and shooting process is more enjoyable. The Ektra and Portra were scanned by the lab to resolution a bit higher than the M9, and results were indeed very good. The M9 clearly has the edge in fine detail that gets lost in the grain of film, but I really like the color in film.
