Advertisement Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 Hi R.Purnama, Take a look here Leica D.R.P No 362577. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
jaapv Posted October 30, 2022 Share #2 Posted October 30, 2022 Yes it is an original Leica and lens. The forum does not do valuations but in this case it is clear that the camera is in such a sorry state that the value is close to nil. The internal mechanics are most likely seized up too. jc_braconi Posted October 30, 2022 Share #3 Posted October 30, 2022 It looks that it is a Leica IIIc issued during the WW II and suffered a lot to be considered as a relic of this time
nitroplait Posted October 30, 2022 Share #4 Posted October 30, 2022 Looks like it was buried. Probably best considered a paperweight/conversation piece, sadly.
Darrell Posted October 30, 2022 Share #5 Posted October 30, 2022 If carefully cleaned so as not to change the patina, it should display well as a relic. Compared to a working vintage Leica, it won’t be worth very much.
Pyrogallol Posted October 30, 2022 Share #6 Posted October 30, 2022 (edited) It is still worth more than any average camera in the same condition for the same period. Do you know any history of it? If you wind the camera on and press the shutter release does anything happen? Move the advance/rewind lever to the “A” position first, it looks to be half way between A and R in the pictures. If you unscrew the lens from the camera body and look inside do the cloth shutter curtains look in usable condition? If you are unsure about how the camera works there is plenty of information on the Internet about these cameras. 250swb Posted October 30, 2022 Share #7 Posted October 30, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) First make sure there isn't a film in it, try rewinding before opening the bottom of the camera. But for value consider this, it would be cheaper to buy one of a similar age and in good condition than to have this one serviced, never mind if it needed new shutter curtains etc.

willeica Posted October 30, 2022 Share #9 Posted October 30, 2022 This camera needs a lot of work and the cost of repair might exceed the 'retail value' of the camera. The serial number does, I believe, fall just within the range for red shutter curtain items 362,401-379226 which might enhance its value somewhat. If the OP knows how to unscrew the lens and wind the shutter this could be checked. William
Anbaric Posted October 30, 2022 Share #10 Posted October 30, 2022 Ebay sellers would call it a 'mint minus' IIIc (wartime 'stepper' variant, 1940). I suppose there's a chance that is mostly surface grime and it's not as bad as it looks underneath (of course, it could well be worse). At least what is left of the vulcanite covering will be easy to remove! Replacement leatherette kits are cheap. I don't have much hope for the lens, which looks very cloudy from the photo, but if it's not completely trashed it needs to be wet cleaned very carefully with the proper materials as the glass is soft. The body could be gone over with a damp cloth to see if that grime wants to shift. Instructions for safely unloading any film that might be in it are here, p31. Then see p29 for how the baseplate works and p9 for removing the lens. There's an example of the possible red shutter blind here.
earleygallery Posted October 30, 2022 Share #11 Posted October 30, 2022 It looks very grubby but could be fine after a CLA and new covering (or not, keep the rat look!). If you are just looking to sell it then list it as it is on ebay, 99p start price and no reserve. I bet it would sell for far more than it's actually worth! jaapv Posted October 31, 2022 Share #12 Posted October 31, 2022 Given the amount of wear on the lens and body edges and the possibly non-original screws (although, this is a wartime camera and Leica might have run out of chrome screws, replacing them by black ones) I strongly suspect that this would not be a cleanup but a full restoration. jerzy Posted October 31, 2022 Share #13 Posted October 31, 2022 as William noted this was red curtain originally, pretty sure they need to be renewed. Additionally - rewind lever is not the correct one. It works here as well but is not IIIc Type 1, see photo Welcome, dear visitor! Yes, the camera and Summar are in very bad condition, need a lot of attention (money), but you can make out of it fully working camera. Could be a nice project fpr enthusiastic hobbyist
 Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members!
