I had to rename the SL2 update file to exclude the "_(2)" part in the filename for it to be recognised. The correct filename should be "SL2__50.lfu". Hope this helps other running into the issue of the camera saying "no firmware update found on SD card".

I have an assignment tomorrow and still a little scared of the update; not that there will be problems like last time....

It's good practice to delay firmware upgrades until you have some downtime.

There is a tiny chance of bricking the camera (for any brand, not Leica specifically). More importantly, the camera might behave differently in very subtle ways. That's not something you want to find-out while a customer is paying for your time.

"The lens profiles for lenses attached via third-party mechanical adapters can now also be added. The focal length can be configured. This information will be then be written to the Exif data."

Finally...

Awesome news. Hopefully users of the Leica M-Adapter-L can also use the manual entry setting in order to avoid baked-in edge color corrections and vignette corrections.

I upgraded it went smooth, they even added  a reminder to save your profiles:)

But I can't get the Perspective control setting to work, is grayed out. Do I need to be in a specific setting for it to be enabled?

Thanks!

Check firmware update notes for LPC (disabled in continuous mode and multishot).

That typically happens when you download a file that has already been downloaded and so the computer appends a (2) so it doesn’t overwrite it.  That has happened on my Mac and I’ve had to rename as well…
