Will do Rob.  Looking unlikely now sadly.  My Budapest trip was a surprise from my lovely other half and he's also booked a trip for both of us at the end of April, so I may have used all my travel vouchers for now🙁.

Miss you there!

This one from the River trip, just because I love all the twinkly lights - CL 35mm M doing well with ISO 6400, does look better full size on flickr.

Wonderful pictures,

thank you, because I'm so excited in memory of my mother. She was hungarian my father german. Im proud of her, her birthname "Ilona György".  My parents came 1944 as refugees to germany. I grew up with Hungarian as my mother language. German I learned later at school. My last visit to Budapest was in 2005 for the "Opera Ball". I'm not glad about the current Orban Regime. Anyway I hope you enjoyed your trip and i finish with a hungarian greeting

Nagyon szépen köszönöm!

The church was built on the spot where Empress Catherine the Great received the news in 1770 of the victory of the Battle of Tchesme over the Turks.

the iconostasis separates the faithful who remain standing from the clergy who officiate before the altar , women wear a scarf, men are bareheaded.

A few from inside the Great Synagogue, Dohány street, Budapest  CL with 35mm Summilux M

These are so interesting to see Jayne. The decorations of the dome look almost Moorish and for the rest....! I've never seen a synagogue with that many tiers.
