I'm a big fan of your shots, Louis, but in this one the light/contrast is a bit apocalyptic for me. ;)

Jaap, much appreciated for your constructive comment. I had a tricky light with aggressive contrast.

But following your comment, I tried to correct it. I hope it is a little better now. :)

I like the composition very much but on the quality of light, I have to agree with Jaap!

- Vikas

Thank you, Vikas. Both Jaap and you are certainly right. But if you were more familiar with my previous b/w conventions in (old) DPR, you could recall that I always favored deep and dramatic b/w; and from time to time, some friends found them too “dark”: :)

As the matter of fact, I had very little color posts till recently. Most of my posts were in monochrome. ;)

Btw, the previous shot that you are seeing now has been corrected and reposted after Jaap’ s right remarks. Before, it was even darker. :)

don Quixote dela Mancha

We are  used to always see the Cervantes hero with a long lance. At first, I thought this one was a Conquistador, but then, I saw the windmill! ;)

An amazing tree! Can you tell us it’s genius and species, and where it is? I’d love to go see it one day.

Hi,

Beech (Fagus) is a genus of deciduous trees in the family Fagaceae, native to temperate Europe, Asia and North America. Recent classification systems of the genus recognize ten to thirteen species in two distinct subgenera, Engleriana and Fagus.

It is located in the county of Shropshire UK, in a wooded area called Corbett Woods, Grinshill - and is where I regularly walk my dogs.

Beautiful! Is it light or light and fog?

At night there was a little bit of frost, when the sun starts to shine it became moist. The perfect recipe for sunray-photography. By the way, these are all Jpegs, Tweaked in LR. Man I love to work with the CL.
