Thanks.  For summer dawn views, I'll try to have a coffee at the clifftop cafe at Sataf when conditions are right.  I suspect we have more fog in the winter (rainy season) than in summer.   I'm taking a visitor to see the Franciscan Monastery on the next nice Saturday.  Incidentally, I recommend people having a look at your Machane Yehuda gallery https://www.adammiller.nyc/portfolio/G00000DdLS3bdnfc .  You found many paintings that I didn't see when I first became aware of them a few months ago.  When were they taken?  And are you still shooting only with film?

Hi Scott - I only get to live there in the summer time (I have a second home in the Holyland Tower) and you are probably right about having more fog in the other seasons, although the summer nights/mornings are particularly conducive to fog given how extreme the temperature shifts (I just LOVE the very chilly nights in Jerusalem in the summer!).  I am indeed shooting only film and was able to grab some photos of the shop doors at the shuk by arriving very early around 6am when most of the shops were still closed (but just after dawn so there is sufficient light).   I am in touch with Souza regarding making use of the photos for his commercial purposes (on a joint venture basis).  This past summer I was bummed to see the material fading of many of the murals that the painted just 10 months or so earlier.  They don't last forever but my photos (with that "wet paint" look of the slide film do!  ;)  Would love to connect with you the next time I am there (likely this summer).

That's an intriguing observation point, since pretty much all of Jerusalem can be seen from the higher floors.  Anyway, please do contact me when you are in town, through email (see my website) or PM on this forum, which generates an email alert.
