grahamhoey Posted April 5, 2018 Share #1204  Posted April 5, 2018 Rob, what an amazing and emotional trip that will be. I haven’t been there but did visit the holocaust museum in Jerusalem, incredibly moving. We can never forget.

Louis Posted April 5, 2018 Share #1206  Posted April 5, 2018 Great picture Louis, nice to see spring has arrived with the blossoms  Thank you very much,Graham.  I was back to DC for few days, and visiting my old neighborhood to shoot the famous Cherry Blossoms, I was sadden to see nothing!... For 25 years that I used to live in that neighborhood, Cherry Blossoms were very famous and much visited at this time of the year. But this year, due to the bad weather, they were late couple of weeks. The picture you see above was a very rare street in down town DC.

djmay Posted April 6, 2018 Share #1209  Posted April 6, 2018 It should be quite compelling. I have been to Yad Vashem in Jerusalem and to the Holocaust museum in Washington DC, both of which are extraordinarily well done. Rob I have not been to Yad Vashem. I have been to the US Holocaust museum, the memorial in Berlin, Anne Frank House, Dachau (3 times) and Auschwitz. I have also been to Prison S21 and the Killing Fields in Cambodia. As bad as the other sites are in telling the stories of atrocities, Auschwitz is in a category by itself. One could not imagine how bad it was without seeing it. If possible, allow plenty of time to walk around Birkenau (Auschwitz II).  Take lots of photos so that others can see. That is what I told some university students while I was there. They felt weird about taking photos. There are only two locations, that I know, where photos are not permitted.  Jesse   Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

(Yes, I do plan on taking plenty of photographs). I feel an imperative to see Auschwitz for my own psyche. I can only imagine the flood of emotions that will overcome me when I 'pay my respects' there. Regards, Rob Edited April 6, 2018 by ropo54

carl_b Posted April 7, 2018 Share #1218  Posted April 7, 2018 Although sunny, it's below freezing and windy. Took the new-to-me 55-135mm to the Como Zoo.  Noticing the CL can have a tough time focusing the 55-135mm, when the focus starts way off. Like it can't figure out what to try, so it just stops. After manually focusing to get it close, auto-focus can finally kick-in. Anyone else noticing this?  Anyway, here are a few shots. There's a unique, organic quality to these images which I like. I've notice that all Leica's using the Maestro have a very distinct character.
