Hello everyone,

I bought the Leica m11 a few weeks back, this is my first digital Leica camera, and everything worked very well so far.

Yesterday I have changed something in my Camera setting and the Numbers in the viewfinder has changed from Light measurements to numbers which i don't know what are they.

The change applies only when I'm using A mode, and while I work on Manual mode the lightmeter works just the same as the Analog leica m works.

I'm adding some photos from the viewfinder in order to illustrate the problem.

Thanks in advance for all the answers! :)

In A mode...

Shutter speeds ?

You may read the f***  manual 😉...

why? we have you for that!..

BTW inLeica lingo the optical finder is called Rangefinder to OVF, in contrast to EVF from visioflex.

the number keep changing, the information is not always a useful info... if you apply EV compensation it it will just say -0.7

3"  and 08" appear to be shutter speeds.  Not sure what 5.00 is about.

Not sure why 08"  has the 0 when 3" doesn't.  That seems odd/inconsistent if these numbers are shutter speeds.

Oh . . . just noticed the change in Avatar.  Bring back the Leica Chicken!

Apologies, but "LC" - the Leica Chicken - has retired with distinction after many years of faithful service to Leica.

The Leica Chicken has already received his retirement wristwatch (the L2, of course) and has no interest in unretiring, as a certain NFL quarterback recently did.  "LC" likes his L2 and doesn't want to give it back... 😎

5.00 is 1/500th second and the dot indicates that an exposure correction is active.

And read the instruction manual please. Believe me that this would result in a steeper learning curve than asking such questions here. And you are quicker as well.

Edited by M11 for me

most people don’t bother reading the manual when it is included.  Having to either download or request a physics copy pretty much brings the number of people who will read the m11 manual to probably just you lol.

I actually have the physical manual.  Took the time to request it but have yet to open it to read anything.  I’m part of that 99.9% of lazy people.

Like photoworks, I am perfectly happy to have others in this forum answer simple questions for me.

😇 I am the best .

I see the new firmware adds perspective control.  I turned it on and can guess what it does but haven’t ready anything about it.  Prove you are the best and give me a tutorial on it.  Thanks in advance

Thanks.  So it’s basically the horizontal line function but it auto rotates the image for you at the cost of a crop.  Can this be reversed in post in case the crop is too much or a level photo is not desired?  Just wondering if I need to bother turning it off manually when I intend to take an off level photo.

come on! at this point you should try to educate yourself! https://lmgtfy.app/?q=leica+m10-p+perspective+control+youtube

Eat this point it does not work anyway, so don't bother turning it on.

It is irreversible for JPGs only. It is optional and tunable for DNGs.
