From Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale. Two scenes that show the bizarre contrast between the two halves of the play: the first is a characteristic Shakespearean tragedy, with a falsely accused queen, and a king descending into obsessive madness; the second is a bucolic comedy.

Dress rehearsal for 'Little Shop of Horrors'. And I get to see it in a few hours time without my camera, courtesy of a couple of comps.

Delightful, especially the dentist.  Which actor plays Audrey 1?

She is in front in the first shot below.
And the gentleman in the green glitter suit in the second shot was the voice of Audrey 2. He only wore it for the bows at the end. He had a phenomenal bass voice (Paul Robeson-like) - just what was needed.

From the dress rehearsal of Sweet Charity, a show better titled Men Are Mostly Useless W$%^&*(£s, which is probably fair comment.

From the dress rehearsal for an interesting play: Stempenyu by Sholem Aleichem, in a new translation from Yiddish. The play is set in a Ukrainian shtetl, includes music and dance with a klezmer band on stage throughout, and with a set employing Chagall pairings. It was the inspiration for the musical, Fiddler on the Roof.

It's a student production, and the director, who is descended from Sholem Aleichem, has created a beautiful-looking set, matched by the costumes, and persuaded some talented musicians to form the klezmer band, which is on stage throughout.

My job is to record a video of the performance later this week, which will be used to rustle up money for a London performance. Although a student photographer is documenting the rehearsal, I was checking the venue this morning and took these shots from the first few minutes.
