The weather was bad today, it was raining and I wouldn't get out to shoot some photos. So I prepared David and Goliath on my desk. It doesn't make any sense but ... here you go.

Left to the right: Sigma 35mm F1.2 DG DN Art L-Mount (1090 grams), Voigtlander VM Nokton 35mm 1.2 ASPH. II (471g), Summilux 35 pre asph II (245g)

I cannot stop thinking that you are missing one to get a perfect Dalton set from Lucky Luke 🙈

The lux weight is 185g I believe ;) The titanium version should be 245g because it’s all brass.

I put the lens on the kitchen scale. The weight is exactly 184g which means there is 1g weight loss in 40 yrs. It'll take another 7360 years to disapear from this world.

And the same applies to other focal lengths...which makes the M line so attractive 😉

Ok, got it, the answer left to right is, sharp wide open, very acceptable wide open, not sharp at all wide open. What do I win?

Well, you can minimize small size:

If they didn't have their large rear elements the 1:2.8/35mm Biogon and the 1:3.5/35mm Planar - both for the old rangefinder Contax - would be approx. 1cm shorter than the Summilux.

The MS -Optical 1:3.5/35mm Perar has a practical small focussing lever - otherwise you wouldn't be able to handle it. The 1:3.5/3.5cm Elmar will probably never be topped for small size.
