Says I'm a 50 but the only Leica lens I have is a 35 and I find myself walking back to get the shot quite often and never walk closer.  Guess I'm more of a 24 or wider guy...

I guess walking back makes the quiz think you prefer longer focal lengths. And maybe you also liked the pictures of shallow DOF and larger bokeh balls? These are things that will probably pull you towards 50mm.

Wouldn’t it be the opposite?  I walk back because I want to capture more in the frame than the 35 allows.  On my Nikon I often shoot with a 14-30 lens and usually keep at the wider end.

If you are photographing people, going backwards will often mean that you want a longer focal length to be more discreet. But of course I do not know if this was what the quiz makers had in mind.

For a while there, I thought what they had in mind was, "We're overstocked on 50s and 28s - move the merchandise!" ;)

But then at last a few other focal lengths were mentioned.

(I got "28mm" also. But in reality that is my 5th choice (after 21, 135, 75, 35, but before 90 and 50).

It told me to get a Noctilux - the one lens I would never buy. 🤪

It told me I am a 18mm guy.  I own 2 50s, a 35, and waiting on delivery of a 75.  I have owned all the 28s and sold each of them because i found myself constantly cropping.  I guess i was not going wide enough.  So says the internet.

I was first told to be a 18mm guy, which is quite surprising for me, as I seldom use very wide Lenses… I recently got a 3.8/24 to go wider but it is very wide for me.
An opportunity to learn :)

Second time, I was told to be a 50 guy, which is very true now. 90% of my M shots are with a 50
