Advertisement Posted January 17, 2022 Posted January 17, 2022 Hi trickness, Take a look here Leica Q3 predictions / ruminations. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
SiggiGun Posted January 17, 2022 Share #22 Posted January 17, 2022 If the LR pictures are correct, I am a little bit disappointed about the nevee ending changes of the function bottoms: Q1, SL, M10 all different, then Q2, SL2 and M 11 all the same! Great enhancements! PLAY, FN, MENU. Is this Q3 the beginning of the next round for SL3, M12 etc. OK it's nice to have just 2 bottoms but please stay consistent. Some Leica freaks use different models.. like Q, SL and/or M
T25UFO Posted January 17, 2022 Share #23 Posted January 17, 2022 It looks nice but I can't see Leica changing the button layout again having just unified their cameras with the M11 release. Also Leica Rumours says ". . . the above picture is part of the latest Leica FOTOS app . . ." but I've just downloaded the latest version, with M11 beta connection, and it doesn't appear on either the iPhone or iPad app. I suppose it might be hidden somewhere and I don't know where to look. With the already announced Q2 Monochrom Reporter due in March, does it really seem likely that Leica will release a Q3 shortly thereafter? Like @trickness I wouldn't be interested in a tiltable screen although I wouldn't go as far as to call it disposable trash!

humerc Posted January 17, 2022 Share #26 Posted January 17, 2022 I downloaded the actual Leica Fotos App today (for iPad and iPhone) and at the first start there is some introduction to new features and they show the mentioned picture of the „Q3“ - so it seems real…
hdmesa Posted January 17, 2022 Share #27 Posted January 17, 2022 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) It's starting to feel like we won't get a Q2-P, and the Reporter versions are end-of-line for the Q2. It appears once when you’ve updated the app. Something like a get started menu from memory which explains the new features of the app update.

While I like the idea of a 35mm, the 35mm "crop" of the Q2 does such a good job as is that I would rather a 50mm. Now THAT would really be a great 2 camera setup. The 50mm could now cover off a 75mm length very well also, giving great focal coverage from 28 to 75 (with both cameras). To me that would add portraiture and mild telephoto work to the great wide angle setup of the Q2. Am I in the minority with this, or would others see 50mm as a huge value also? Thanks, Brad I’d prefer a 28mm Q3 and a 75mm Q3. Rationale is that the 28mm could digitally zoom to 35 and 50 quite easily, especially with a 60mp sensor. The 75mm could go up to 200mm I imagine. It would make a killer 2-body kit that I’d definitely buy.
ASE001 Posted January 18, 2022 Share #30 Posted January 18, 2022 (edited) If you will like to see the Q3 picture, install or upgrade to the Fotos apps 3.0.0, when you open the apps, select the gear (config) then choose what’s new, it will be on the third dot. I hope it’s coming this spring. I currently have the Leica Q, I would like to get the Q3, it would be a nice to upgrade to this generation. I hope the spec will include a similar sensor of the M11. If the picture is in this apps, is it Leica did a error to show this picture instead of Leica Q2 or this will be soon annonce by Leica? Driften Posted January 18, 2022 Share #31 Posted January 18, 2022 I have a Q and was thinking of a Q2 or Q2M, but a tilt screen would push me to hold off and buy that version. I would love it to have something other than a 28. A 40-50mm would be perfect for me, but with 60mp I would be willing to crop...

My ideal Q2 would be a 35mm with an flip screen for low/high shooting. I am coming to appreciate the 28 and ease of at least cropping to 35mm. dancook Posted January 18, 2022 Share #34 Posted January 18, 2022 I was not much excited for a Q3 until I saw the tilt-screen, awesome!
Newtype Posted January 18, 2022 Share #35 Posted January 18, 2022 If accurate, I love the new design direction. Tilt screen + internal storage + new sensor + updated processor + 35mm would be quite nice. One can dream.
ruskkyle Posted January 18, 2022 Share #36 Posted January 18, 2022 (edited) Pretty mad that this image slipped through the radar onto the front page of their own app… Gotta say, it looks SWEET though 👌 Edited January 18, 2022 by ruskkyle

They are enjoying this behind closed Leica doors.

That is one feature I miss from the Fujifilm cameras I sold off to by my SL2-S. I would sell off my Q and CL to get a Q3 with a tilt screen.
TBPhoto35 Posted January 18, 2022 Share #39 Posted January 18, 2022 I am with those who'd like a 40-50mm lens option. I'd use my QP for the 28-35mm range and the Q3 for 40/50-105ish.
db24fps Posted January 18, 2022 Share #40 Posted January 18, 2022 That render is certainly very intriguing. I'm not sure about the buttons moving to the right of the display as I could envision accidentally nudging the 'play' button in particular.
