The quail in my area are interesting to view. As the temperatures cool they fluff up to stay warm. I took this image this morning. It was 2 deg. F and the quail resembled footballs.

What could be better ?   Sunbathing and snacking at the same moment.

I, too, don't shoot and eat the birds of my youth.

Hunting is fine but once you shoot the bird it's gone forever.

I have about 40 quail that come to my feeder every day. I guess Henry & Louis would call that a banquet.  😬

Louis & Henry, you two are funny.

I prefer my quail alive. When I was young I would hunt them. Now I just enjoy seeing them. Must say, you are correct, they are tasty.

Please DO NOT give Henry your address. I also prefer to shoot them with a camera.
