I'm confused. Isn't Thumbs Up intended to provide support on digital cameras which doesn't have a film advance arm? What would be the function of a Thumbs Up on a film camera, other than being in the way?

Not needed for my film M's but I use one on my M204 since it's thicker and doesn't fit my hand.

A film M camera comes with it's own grip, the film advance lever. I don't see any comedy given most people are wise to the utterly banality of your question. Give us something to work with if you want to be a successful troll.

Trolling or not, and believe it or not, I saw an example of a film M with a thumb grip posted on a FB group. I like a good accessory as much as the next person, but I remember thinking I'd probably break the hot shoe mistakenly trying to advance the grip instead of the lever...

The film Leica don't need the "thumbs up" because there is  the film advance lever, not even sure if one could be fitted on a film M.

Yep, 100%. Not something I would do, the Thumbs up is great on my M9s but can't see any benefit on my MP.

I use the thumbs up on my MA and find it helps balance the camera, especially with heavier lenses.  The gip lies below the film advance lever and is not in the way at all.
