I've been using the 50 Elmar-M for almost a year with my M6 as my only lens for M format and I really love its rendering.

The rigid Summicron is really an interesting lens but I couldn't find one in a good condition and the price is going up like crazy these day so it's not my option

I mainly shoot portrait and some street photography :)

Currently,I'm interested in 50 Summilux BC(I heard the rendering is sharper and more deep in red to the normal one) and new LLL Elcan

Btw,sorry for my bad English :D

We've been talking about the 50/3.5 Elmar (in both LTM and M-mount) so I thought you might like to see how the 50/3.5 Elmar 'red scale' LTM draws to help you decide which way to go.  This picture was shot with a M3 and 50mm f/3.5 Elmar with Neopan Acros 100 ISO.

I think so, my two Summicron (one M model 50th anniversary, the other LTM heavier) 50mm are very heavy, must be brass under the coating, and not aluminium

The Jahre is really beautiful :D

It really is isn’t it !

Nice in/to use also ...

Solid feeling and balance very well with scalloped large(r) focus ring) than most 'same lens'.

It depends what you mean by 'exotic' - if the Elmar is your 'everyday' lens then maybe something that gives a different rendering, like a Noctilux or a Summar?

How about noct 1.2?

TBH,noct 1.0,.95 are too large for me 😂

Thank you for all recommendations

I might go with the new 50 cron v5 in silver chrome.

Is the chrome version still made out of brass?

I might be wrong… but I thought the v5 in silver chrome is no longer in production. At the same time I do believe that all v5 chromes ever being produced, was made out of brass…

Should be rather easy to get one used. Have one myself and really good ergonomics & nice solid feel.

Elcan is probably the closest you can match to the elmar. Putts seems to match the character to the older elmars
