The adjustable stand-off eyepiece ring on the 20-60 ocular mounted on my Televid 77 spotting scope, is very loose. This ring, which is to allow spectacles and non spectacles wearers to view at the optimum distance, is so loose, that just putting your eye to the ocular, shuts the ring down into the body of the ocular, to the spectacles position. As for distance, I am a non-spectacles wearer, this is irritating and I have made a temporary cure of putting a pair of O rings round the stem of the eyepiece. A very thin O ring which sits over a narrow and shallow step on the base of the stem and a thicker O ring to hold the thin ring in position (see photo below). Has anyone else come across this and found a more permanent cure? I cannot see how to tighten the eyepiece ring, unless it involves taking the whole ocular apart, which I am reluctant to do.
