pippy Posted August 24, 2021 Share #8 Â Posted August 24, 2021 (edited) As I'm sure you already know the v4 in chrome is rare and, unsurprisingly, is priced accordingly. Here's one currently on offer (but located in Austria); https://www.leicashop.com/classic/at/en/lcc/Leica-Summicron-M-11825-2-50mm-chrome/33035-3 The regular black-chrome version is commonly found and even a really good one costs around 1/3 of the asking price here. Superb lens, BTW. Philip. Edited August 24, 2021 by pippy

Mine developed a wobble in the focusing mechanism many years ago. While Leica could solve the problem, they had to replace the silver chrome ring under the aperture ring with a silver one that was not chrome during the repair. Didn't look too good. That is the disadvantage of such a rare lens, replacement parts may no longer be available. The other problem I had with the 11825 was the focus tab. Its shape is not as comfortable as later ones, at least for me. At the end, I preferred my 50-year Summicron, which is silver chrome as well.
JonPB Posted August 26, 2021 Share #10  Posted August 26, 2021 I’ll toss in a mention of my local consignery: Blue Moon Camera (dot com), who also conduct trade in mechanical typewriters. I haven’t seen Igor Camera mentioned, either. I haven’t done business with them, but they have always been near the top of my list when looking to buy. BKimelb1 Posted September 5, 2021 Share #12  Posted September 5, 2021 Ken Hansen was the best Leica dealer in NY and USA in my opinion. He died a few years ago but his son-in-law Vico took over the business. I would check him out at Ken's old email address: Ken Hansen<khpny19@aol.com>
