M11 for me Posted February 18, 2022 Share #21 Posted February 18, 2022 Advertisement (gone after registration) vor 2 Stunden schrieb xiaubauu2009: None of the lens setup you choose has any perspective control He meant that? https://www.bhphotovideo.com/explora/photography/hands-on-review/hands-on-with-leicas-new-perspective-control-function-for-m10-cameras I had no clue what was meant with persective control. So I decided to google. But to my view this is a nice gimmic. No wonder that it is gone in the M11. I can not imagine letting my camera do this automatically. Advertisement Posted February 18, 2022 Posted February 18, 2022 Hi M11 for me, Take a look here Leica M10M travel kit for Architecture, landscape and environmental Portrait,. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Bikie John Posted February 18, 2022 Share #22 Posted February 18, 2022 It only does it "automatically" to the in-camera JPEG files (*), and then only if you ask it to. I think it is a rather nice feature to have, if you like that sort of thing. (*) It saves the data needed for perspective adjustments in the metadata for the raw file, and if you open it in Adobe Camera Raw or Lightroom, it will apply the adjustment automatically. But you can very easily switch it off when editing and carry on with the unadjusted raw data. There are a few threads somewhere here which go into it in detail. Ouroboros Posted February 18, 2022 Share #23 Posted February 18, 2022 (edited) Three days to go of a month-long journey around Sri Lanka by bicycle, on foot, in a multitude of tuk-tuks, on trains, boats and in taxis. I brought only my M10-R with three batteries, four 128gb sd cards, my 28mm summicron asph safari edition and my 75mm f2 apo-summicron, all in a Hadley Digital. I’ve photographed people, places, street, architecture, wildlife, landscapes and seascapes and have not found myself wanting anything wider or longer. I left my other eight Leica lenses at home and I never carry a ‘back up camera’ other than my iPhone. The 28mm summicron has had the most use, probably up to 70% and I’ve been glad of the 75mm when I wanted the narrower angle of view. Mrs O has been happily creating a couple of albums on the go with her Fujifilm Instax SQ6 prints and handing a few prints out to local people. She’s had no issues with airport and security scanners affecting her Instax material. Edited February 18, 2022 by Ouroboros

When I travelled with just a M, that was my lens choice as well, except that 28mm Summicron is a bit big (😉) so I took Elmarit 28mm asph.

The CV ltm 28mm colour-skopar prevented me from buying the 28mm Elmar asph, it was just so good, so well made (brass) and tiny! I suppose you could argue that the 28mm summicron asph is ‘too big’ compared to the CV 28mm c-s or the 28mm summaron-m, which I also have, but it’s hardly ‘big’ by any other measure, even against my Nikkor 28mm ai-s (not a big lens itself and another gem!), it is much smaller. I traded my v1 28mm summicron asph for the safari edition because I like green lenses with sliding/ locking hoods, but any version 28mm summicron asph is pretty special. It has a bit of character, enough speed for my use at f2 and is nicely balanced on the camera. Edited February 18, 2022 by Ouroboros
RexGig0 Posted February 18, 2022 Share #26 Posted February 18, 2022 (edited) 1. The complex barrel distortion, that changes to pincushion distortion at the edges, that is so characteristic of most ultra-wide M-mount lenses, is absent from images shot with the Zeiss 21mm f/4,5 Biogon C ZM lens. So, if using an M Type 246 Monochrom, and anticipating architectural features, especially near the edges, this lens is often my wide-angle choice. I cannot say how it performs on an M10 Monochrom. (Notably, its images have color shift, when shooting color images, with digital M cameras.) In a three-lens kit, I will probably find 21mm to be as wide as I need. 2. A 35mm might be as wide as I need, or, it could be the happy medium, as a wide-normal. My do-it-all 35mm lens is a Zeiss Distagon 35mm f/1.4 ZM, because it can shoot so well, wide-open, in very low light, or be an excellent landscape lens, in any light condition. 3. At 50mm, I normally want to use the “character” lens that lured me into Leica M photography, the Summilux-M 50mm ASPH. I have other Leica fifties, that are smaller and lighter, but this Summilux is special, to me, for images of people. Unless I had specific plans, to that would require something different, this could well be my three-lens travel kit, for Monochrom shooting. I have driven from SE Texas, to Upstate NY, with this very combination. Of course, with a personal motor vehicle to carry the weight, I would, today, probably travel with more than three lenses. I have other choices, from 25mm to 90mm, mostly Leica, but some Zeiss and Voigtlander. If without a personal vehicle, I might choose to travel with two lenses, or, perhaps, just one. I am capable of enjoying either a 28mm, a 35mm, a 50mm, or, perhaps even a 75mm, as an only lens. Another interesting three-lens combination might be two vintage lenses, and a reproduction/Heritage lens: My threaded-mount Summaron 2.8cm f/5.6 lens, my Summaron-M 3.5cm f/3.5, and my Thambar-M 90mm f/2.2 lens. The first two are tiny, enhancing their portability. A set of lenses, by a particular designer, could be another theme, for a trip, but the best that I can do is two Walter Mandler designs, the Elmarit-M 28mm Version 3, and Summicron-M 50mm, with Version 4 optics, and two Peter Karbe designs, the Summilux-M 50mm ASPH and APO Summicron-M 75mm ASPH. Typing this has really reminded me how many M-mount lenses I have accumulated, in a short four years. Only one, a Zeiss, was bought new, which has helped to keep the cost relatively reasonable. Stephen.s1 Posted February 19, 2022 Share #27 Posted February 19, 2022 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) For the 10-M: (1) Voightlander 40mm f1.4, (2) V't'lnd'r Nocton 75mm f1.5 and (3) The backbreaker; Nokton 21mm f1.4. If I must shoot color, the Ricoh G IIIX will be in my pocket. The 40 is my favorite focal length.. Almost welded to the camera. Others are JIC (just in case). Meanwhile back in the car you might find a MF and it's lenses. Edited February 19, 2022 by Stephen.s1

Which is really a gimmick cause if you want to do post (in camera post or post post) you can just do it easier with a ultra wide angle lens and just Lightroom adjust. I thought the OP want to do real PC, hence my suggestion of the Cambo Actus, like what I am using: Welcome, dear visitor! Cambo Actus + M246 with Actar 24mm, upshifted and left right 3 image stitched. however, 246 shutter is bit too much for this setup. davidmknoble Posted March 6, 2022 Share #29 Posted March 6, 2022 There are a few lenses I really enjoy traveling with. Small and versatile. I find they do well on the monochrome and I generally like a yellow filter on front, but even without a filter I like them for traveling: 1. Elmar 90mm Collapsable f/4 Macro 2. Tri-Elmar MATE 28-50-35 v2 with hood. 3. Summilux 35 FLE 4. Summilux 24mm ASPH The 24 isn’t very small, but I like the way it draws and the size is just a little more than the 28, so the finder gets most of the necessary view. Just my thoughts!
