I think you won’t notice any difference between those 2 cameras, brassed, standing in front of of you. Only difference is the battery bottom that seems to be aluminium.
By the way, talking of 2000 limited M10-R‘s (if it’s true) maybe there won’t be much more M11 BP at the end?

Maybe even less once the M12 starts and m11 GBP Production stops.

The bottom plate of silver and GBP M11 is brass but yeah may be not as appealing as when brassing on a baseplate like m10r

I agree you may not notice but you will know it is there. It just does not feel as complete a design in black paint for me. It's a modern bottom design in aluminimum with an old style brassing finish on top.  Not quite right for me and I am not a fan, I'm sure Leica will stop production of these variations at any given point if they think they can make more money using the parts/resource on a different model. Who knows when but I think the number will be limited in the end even though they class it as standard production.

Still confusion regarding the M11‘s base plate. IT IS BRASS. Only the small battery base cover may be aluminium, or something else non brass. This part (battery cover)although won’t be scratched much, as it sits tucked away in the middle of a BRASS base plate. Same goes for m11 safari. The edges of this BRASS base plate are the most prone to BRASSING.

Yes ok but the bottom of the battery is not and it has a modern look to it with the quick release silver switch etc. Doesn’t feel right. I associate brassing with vintage I think hence my distaste for it. Each to their own, there are choices out there for a reason.

Only the silver M11 top and bottom is brass; the black version is made from aluminum, according to Leica.

The M10-R BP is still my most loved digital M. Personally I secretly had a list of my favourite digital Ms:
1) M10-R BP

2) M60 Edition

3) M9-P Black

4) M9-P Silver

5) M-D 262

I did not include the M11 series as after trying the M11-P variant for a week, I just cannot bring myself to see the files. The pictures are so... Sony sensor. Meanwhile, the M10 batteries are back in stock, brand new, and I am as happy as a kid now knowing this camera can last me another 20 years or so. I also added the Chinese LLL 35mm 8e, perfect combination.

My list of favorites is similar:

1) M10-R BP

2) M10-P Safari

3) M-D Typ 262

Loved the M9-P until the last day of its life. :)

The Safari! Yes how could I exclude that from the List! I used to have it, regrettably sold. Every time I carried the Safari along, people would be asking ‘is that a film camera?’
