verwackelt Posted March 24, 2021 Share #65 Posted March 24, 2021 But no mechanical shutter no ibis no attachable Grip with larger battery… For me Sigma is keen on the video crew that puts that thing in a cage and not so much on photographer.

verwackelt Posted March 24, 2021 Share #67 Posted March 24, 2021 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Yes i know it can take good quality pictures. And i liked the imagequality very much. But i had the FP a week and found the handling without the features i mentioned above not so pleasing. It could be a nice second pocket camera but for that it is too expensive for me. And as a first or alone camera i would like to have the missing features. Edited March 24, 2021 by verwackelt

The sensor itself is probably outstanding. People often complain about overheating and weak colours with Sony cameras, but those are two areas that Sigma can customize. verwackelt Posted March 24, 2021 Share #72 Posted March 24, 2021 Sigma uses a lowpassfilter on it. The tests will show if it will reduce micro contrast and detail sharpness…

LocalHero1953 Posted March 25, 2021 Share #74 Posted March 25, 2021 (edited) To me 'electronic stabilisation' means just that, not mechanical i.e. not the IBIS that would be desirable. Edit. But we'll find out today! Edited March 25, 2021 by LocalHero1953

LocalHero1953 Posted March 25, 2021 Share #76 Posted March 25, 2021 (edited) Specs https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1632094-REG/sigma_c44900_fp_l_mirrorless_digital.html/specs?fbclid=IwAR3sVyWUG_eiq8m-F-jqbdoNk4HYQntFIdKqLtApB_lUOPdkXkKolCRBTuk No IBIS - just electronic stabilisation. And the EVF is compatible with the fp, with a f/w update to the latter. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1632096-REG/sigma_av7900_evf_11_electronic_viewfinder.html Edited March 25, 2021 by LocalHero1953
frame-it Posted March 25, 2021 Share #77 Posted March 25, 2021 "Electronic image stabilization helps to reduce camera shake" needs more explanation..is it IBIS or something else..
BlueIn2Red Posted March 25, 2021 Author Share #78 Posted March 25, 2021 Not IBIS.
LocalHero1953 Posted March 25, 2021 Share #79 Posted March 25, 2021 (edited) The same image stabilisation that I think the fp has - certainly other cameras - you sacrifice a bit round the edge of the sensor to gain a stable image. It doesn't involve electro-mechanical movement of the sensor. It has its place in video but less good for stills, IME. BlueIn2Red Posted March 25, 2021 Author Share #80 Posted March 25, 2021 Relatively underwhelmed here by the fp L to be honest (a good thing for my wallet!). The one aspect that seriously tempts me is that I have a number of good APS-C L mount lenses (Leica and Sigma), and with 61mp, these become a lot more useful than they are/were on the fp...
