Had an M8 for 12 years, and will always regret letting it go. I never had a problem with colour files, generally good, using the cut filter. But without the b/w files were 1st class and for IR really good fun.

I want to show two frames taken without a filter.
The first is a the result of processing in LR.
The second is jpg from the camera.

The difference in contrast and saturation is due to the separate preparation of files for publication.

Well done. I've never been able to get good results in post without the UV/IR. Can you share what you did?

This shot was taken at 18:12. After 1-1.5 hours turn on street lighting.
The processing is the same:
LR, on the Color tab, move the two sliders to the left: Magenta and Purple.

This topic has been covered to death for many years. I shot this comparo in 2012 mind you. Simple fact there is only one way to get accurate colors with M8/M8.2. It is to use IR-cut filters.

Полностью согласен с вами. Но не лишайте других людей возможности испытать это на себе. :) :) :)

Not sure if repeating the same experience for many years can be of any help but this is a free world

Hello Volodimmer

I tried your colour fix in LR Classic.  Don't know exactly what you did, but by your instructions, it didn't work for me.

I use the UV/IR filters anyway, they are infallible and do not cause me any grief.

All best Dave S

Here’s one with 21mm Summilux. I didn’t have the uv/ir in Series 8. Also the M8 auto white balance isn’t great and that guy probably wasn’t wearing purple. Interesting colors with the mixed lighting. I didn’t spend any time with this in Lr and was only a test shot.

What do you expect photographing a purple t-shirt by M8 without an UV-IR-filter, even more purple?
Take pictures by an M8 of a symphony orchestra in concert without the recommended UV-IR filter and you will immediately notice on your screen the main cast musicians dressed in expensive black suits and the poor helping students, whose synthetic fiber suits shimmer in magenta.

Indeed... Every now and then we find good people here trying to demonstrate that UV/IR filters are not necessary on M8/M8.2. I guess it's stronger than them but they don't render service to potential buyers. Nothing personal

I didn’t say the filter was unnecessary. I posted the image to show the purple shirt.
