Tasting ice coffee for the first time. After shooting mostly with older glass lately, it is a relief to be able to shoot wide open again, without any worries at all.

Funny story from the other day - while I was in Wetzlar Peter Karbe told an anecdote about his cataract eye operation - he now has an aspherical lens in his eye.
The fun part was the ophthalmologist suggested the aspherical lens and Mr. Karbe just asked him jokingly what the benefits of an aspherical lens are...😂  the ophthalmologist tried to explain to Mr. Karbe but Peter eventually just said "put the darn thing in".

One additional feature Peter Karbe should ask for on his intraocular lens implant (IOL) is APO.  This option would further improve retinal image quality by correcting for chromatic aberration of the eye.

Yosemite with the Leica 50mm Summilux ASPH. Still prefer Mandler lenses though. 🙂

Great photo!

Which body are you using?

Thanks! This shot was taken back in 2011 so it would have been with an M9. It's a combination of 5 separate shots to capture the large dynamic range and then was converted to B&W in Silver Efex.
