Looks nice! I have the Leica/Cooph red rope, which is a good strap.

For more practical use, I just bought two of these Artisan and Artist ACAM E25R Strap for Camera in Khaki colour, and really like them (and looks really nice in Khaki):

Reporter with 24mm 3.8.

I believe a black lens works better than a safari lens.

This arrived today.

Very cool in person, but challenging to take an accurate color photo of it as the hue changes depending on the temperature of the light source.

The Kevlar has yet to be tested as I will see if it is bulletproof after I use it for photography.

Congrats. Great looking camera. Ensure to follow Stefan Daniel's tip to always keep the rangefinder window cleaned to have best rangefinder performance.

Regards,

Steve

In the rough-and-double reportage/photojournalist environment, holding a camera steady enough is no easy task. I am not a PJ, but did work big-city police patrol, mostly at night, plus some extra assignments at large events, and so, saw some PJs and documentary photographers in action, from time to time. I am thinking that a working reporter/PJ would be using a moderate-resolution camera.

My current Leica cameras are only 24MP, but my 50MP Canon 5Ds R “demands” that I use lenses with Image Stabilization, when shooting hand-held.

Said with respect. I am not meaning to be argumentative. 🙂

I have the M10-R and find it challenging to shoot hand held below 1/250 or 1/500 without blurred images. Giving strong consideration to the M10-P with the reduced resolution. It’s a trade-off as are many choices.

OK,

ekg64, that's a very nice bag, so you motivated me to get this ONA Bond Street Camera Bag and Insert - Olive, 2019 Limited Anniversary Edition from the Leica Store Miami.

They offered it as a green Valentine this past Sunday and it arrived today. I'd promote it further but there are supposedly only 100 iIn the world and Miami now shows sold out. The bag holds the reporter and an extra three lenses stacked with a coupler. Thanks Josh. My photo may not show it correctly, but the colors are an almost perfect match.

isn’t this what a reporter’s camera is supposed to look like! 😎

I actually I have a few real flak jackets or wests and they are all with ceramic plates. One of them has a very cool oneliner on the plate: "The Round Stops Here" - I always think of that when I where it. Still kevlar sound cool, but really totally useless and I have been hit in the west through a car front windshield and the impact is massive.

I didn't realize that people in your area are so hostile to street photographers that body armor is necessary! 😳

hi leica s2

I kept this khaki billingham bag delivered with my m8.2 safari which I sold.

for info: the paris leica store informed me that in june 2021 leica will supply 450 lens summicron 28 mm to match the reporter.

Do you have any information on your side concerning this special "reporter" lens ???

have a good day

Ejk64,

A 28 or 35 reporter had been rumored since the start. Given that the 28 safari has never sold out, I was betting on the 35 being the offering. But if they have come close to selling out the M10 reporter, and will truly  limit the 28mm to 450 units, then 28 is more of a reporter lens anyway and would work. The reporter allotments were first sent to the 100 Leica stores. I suspect they each got two or three. Miami shows preorders. I know they got at least two since one was mine and one they kept for the store collection. B&H and the others all show preorder. I don’t see any on eBay yet. It is possible they will be sold out by May.

Just ordered mine today + the 50 Cron f2 (Portugal). My first M camera and lens. About made myself sick deciding between the Reporter or the M10-R in black or silver as all three were in stock and the Miami store today. Decided in the end to go for the unique color/cladding of the Reporter. I already have the Q2M (80mb DNGs) GFX 50R (55mb RAFs), so the lossless compressed M files will give me a break from the large file sizes, and the lower res will be a break from pixel peeping at corner performance. It would have been a tougher choice if the M10-RP was out. Even though the R sounds like the better sensor, I would have preferred no red dot and to have the Leica script on top.

I have the COOPH Leica Paracord strap in olive inbound, and I'm hoping it matches or at least doesn't clash with the Reporter paint color. If the olive doesn't look right, I'll use it for my Q-P and order the black as pictured in the Reporter promo photos.

Now the 2-day shipping wait begins.

Are you satisfied with how the COOPH strap in Olive looks with the Reporter paint color? Looks like it matches in this shot, but the white balance in the shot looks a bit warm so it's hard to tell for sure.

Hdmesa,

Quite satisfied, but no, it is not an exact match. This shot was under a halogen lamp.

I bought it as a temporary strap until I get a special order camo-2 strap from Harry Benz.
Much of the strap is black leather. Only the paracord is olive. I miss understood how little of the strap is olive. But I still like it better than I expected.

Thank you for the feedback and photo. Looks like the strap still matches — reminds me of two colors from the same camo pattern.
