First trials with the SL2-S. All with the 18-35SL at 35mm, f/9.0, 1/30-1/15, ISO 12500 (the maximum I allowed it). Imported to Lightroom, no adjustments made except reduction in exposure for the second one one. No noise reduction, sharpening or clarity. For each image I have selected a 100% enlargement

Summary: there'll be tougher tests to come, but that doesn't look too bad for noise and colour at ISO 12500 to me.

I need to find a suitable low natural light scene.

Thanks - looks very good! Can you also lift deep shadows by, say, 2-3 stops, in order to check for potential miscolouring or other artefacts in deep shadows.

Yes, I'll try that later today. I'm looking for nasty artifical light.

I should have added: these shots were all with AWB

I have the ISO 640 files, SL2-S and S5, with deep shadows ready. Will post later.

The first shot above, now processed to hell and back.
Blacks lifted +45 to set the black point
Shadows lifted +100
Exposure lifted +3 stops

ISO 100 opened in Preview from DNG and exported as JPEG. Not touched.

Less compressed JPEG here: https://www.smugmug.com/gallery/n-VRrRQh/

Now ISO 12500. I have a whole bunch from ISO 100 to 12500 and will process them later to see how they can be made to look. But first, opened in Preview from DNG and exported as JPEG. Not touched.

Now a crop from above done in Preview from DNG. Not touched otherwise.

Edit - ISO 12500 shows very nice detail when opened in Preview.
