Any CL users tempted by the SL2-S?

So.  Big announcement just before Xmas.  Very positive responses all around.  Are any CL users tempted, or are you waiting for the possible "CL2"?

Nope: too big, too heavy, too clumsy. I’ll stick with the smaller, lighter, nimble CL. If a CL2 turns up I will take a look, but it’s not essential.

Yep, I’ve been thinking about combining my photo and video systems for a while so this is very tempting. I imagine the size would take some getting used to after using a CL with little lenses though.

Nope. Chalk and cheese in my book. I have both a CL and SL601 that are used for entirely different purposes (neither for video).

The CL is my stealth  'street' and holiday camera used mostly with small M glass via an adaptor, and can be carried in a pouch. The SL is used for most other purposes together with the 24-90 Elmarit SL and Lumix 70-200/2.8. Hardy discreet and requires a decent bag to lug it around.

Both produce excellent images.

I won't be changing my SL for the SL2 either as I would miss the wonderful multi-purpose 'S' style buttons around the screen and video just doesn't interest me.

Nevertheless it is good to see Leica extending the range of beautiful cameras in their range.

No. Nor any SL. Too large and heavy. Nor am I waiting for a CL2. Only if it offers something I want. Otherwise this one is perfectly fine for the coming decade. I buy Leicas for what they offer, not to be a Hamster in an upgrade treadmill.

I hoped it were a compact camera so thanks no thanks. My next FF camera will be another Kolari mod Sony i suspect. For use with M and R lenses as usual.

A really inexpensive original T to be honest sounds fun.....

Ordered one, but I fully expect the CL + 18-56 will remain my choice for casual use, cycling and hill walking; we compact and lightweight count.

In low light, IBIS coupled with M lenses is where I expect to gain the most from the SL2-S.

Yes, certainly.

I already have the CL and SL2 (and Sigma fp). The SL2-S would be more useful for me than the SL2, so I may see if I can do a swap or trade at some stage.

I shall probably also trade in the CL for a CL2 if/when it arrives - depending on how much better it is. I expect the CL2 to be a big step up in styling and IQ.

I am. But I will wait the new CL2 to compare them side by side. 
But I guess that CL2 will be more suitable for CL replacement than SL2-S.

Just like I had chosen CL over SL in the past. I would certainly choose CL2 over SL2-S in the future.

No need to rush buying anything during the pandemic. I can wait.

I already had a Q and a CL and currently I only have a Q2.

SL2-S should be a temptation but too big, too heavy, too .... As a lot of people I am waiting on the future CL2 without any idea about its characteristics. Is there someone able to speak about this new CL2 ?

I might have been a bit naughty in referencing a "CL2" which does not exist yet and and maybe never will.  That is a consideration: you can have an SL2-S today complete with IBIS, better EVF, better autofocus etc. etc. if you are prepared to carry an extra 200gm or so in body weight.

Sure some people don't need a CL+ and FF and APS are not the same thing. The novelty is compact FF cameras competing in crop mode with APS bodies but Leica cannot play in that league apparently.

I'ld love a CL2 with the IBIS+High ISO features of the SL2-S. 

The SL2-S is just a bit big for travel. I'm very happy with my SL2 for landscapes and bad weather photography.
