F2.

Outresolved my M9 at F2,

Next time I take this lens out- will turn off lens coding, just to prevent any in-camera corrections from interfering with the images.

I'm turning lens coding off for this lens for the next test. I'm wondering if in-camera "corrections" work against it.

On the M9- I am not seeing the red fringing shown with the M10P. I tend to use UV/IR cut filters with my faster lenses on the M9, makes a difference with purple fringing seen in some lenses. I'll shoot some pictures without the IR cut filter.

you may try to shoot some objects that have metalic surface like I do? wondering what's the result will be look like.

Anyway, the red fringing could not be fixed by applying lens correction profile in LR6 (I used the 50/2 APO Lanthar E-mount's profile).

However, using manual CA fix will get the job done quite easily.

The first metal shiny thing I saw reading your post- the lamp behind me. This is with lens coding turned off, and without a filter. 100% crop. LED light- so very little IR being emitted.

I'm going to pursue this issue. On my 50/1.1 Nokton: I always keep an IR cut filter on it because of fringing.

Last Lazy Test shot- I found an old 60watt bulb, which emits lots of IR,

100%crop, IR Cut Filter:

100%crop, no filter:

Wide-Open, Lens Profile turned off. Stuck at home the next few days, but I'm going to be putting this lens through some tests. I'll also try it on my full-spectrum camera.

I would really like to see someone using this lens with film- if anyone is doing this, please post some shots. Get Digital out of the equation to see how it really performs.

Hello. Need to test more but ran a roll of Acros 100 II yesterday. Shot with M7. Developed in HC-110 and scanned with a D800. No edit other than crops.

That delivers at all apertures, across the frame. Excellent clarity, good focus calibration, great sharpness.

What appears for now as the only drawback would be flare control. I have found the lens not dealing greatly with incident light rays - but again, 1 roll only.

Clearly a keeper.

Thankyou for posting these images.

The case of the red fringing on the M10- made me pull out the M8.

Please remember- this is just a stress test for the CA properties of this lens.

Same 60W light Bulb, but with the Leica M8. I used the M8 due to the IR leakage of the filter.

All 100% crops.

APO-Lanthar, Wide-Open, with the IR Cut filter

APO-Lanthar, Wide-Open, without filter

Jupiter-3 Plus With the IR cut filter

Jupiter-3Plus without filter:

Purple Haze clearly present in the last image.

After the boring shots of my Lamp, I'm going to pull out my last roll of Plus-X and load up the M3.

I've got the B&W Yellow filter ready.

But for now- it snowed, and the lens is back on the M9. I shoveled the 300ft+ driveway. Going to take a few pictures.

Brian, the red, blue, and green wavelengths have some serious separation in this shot... :)

Enjoy the snow.  You have a lot more than we have in OH today.
