Our Christmas Cactus got this first bloom of the season exactly on Christmas Day. Pretty amazing timing.

Nice job. I got up, looked at it, then went back to bed.

In my opinion, this would be more dramatic if you dodged the midtones to make that sliver more pronounced.

Cheers, Brent

Thanks Brent. I’ll work on it some more. It was pretty tough holding the Q2M completely still. The craters would have been sharper if I had a better way to lock the camera to the eyepiece on the spotting scope. The eyepiece is slightly smaller than a Leica eyepiece and it’s a bit of a loose fit.

I think the sharpness is actually pretty good. I did a bit of curves adjustment to brighten up the middle tones and then brushed a touch of sharpening with the Nik 3 Output Sharpener. I think you have a pretty cool shot. What do you think?

I do like it better. I don’t have the NIK tools. I really need to add them. Thanks. Yours is much improved.

It reminds me of friends “Yoopers” who have cabins for hunting and fishing in the Upper Peninsular of Michigan. Pan fried breakfasts with coffee and a little shot of something spiritual to keep out the cold.

Your term is incorrect. In the UP, they don't call them cabins. They call them camps.
